Today, presidential candidate Kerry (who is one of our 6 contacts) slammed Bush ON CNN for refusing to meet with the 9-11 Commission for more than an hour. House Minority Leader, Pelosi's, and other offices on our contact list said they are getting many
calls, faxes, emails demanding a stop to the 9-11 cover up, and demanding public testimony under oath by President Bush.

LET'S STEP UP THIS ACTION !! Many 9-11 family members are joining in on this mass phone/email/fax campaign for 9-11 truth . . . AND WE NEED ALL OF YOU (and your contacts) TO JOIN AS WELL. Senator Frist's office staff is particularly displeased about all the
disruptive 9-11 phone calls and faxes directed to his Senate Majority Staff office. His staff hung up on Tom after only a few minutes of polite 9-11 timeline conversation. :-) . . . Tom later called back and lowered his voice preparing to engage the staff a second time, but found that Frist's office was not answering the phone, automatically placing callers on voice mail. And of course Tom
filled up the entire 3 minutes of recording time. :-))))))
He tried the same thing with Senator Kerry's office, but other activists had already beat him to the punch, filling up Kerry's voice-mail. (Frist also has an email online at his website which could also use some action!!!

Tom tried Senator Daschle's office a second time at the Senate Minority office, and his staff also stopped answering, so Tom left another full 3 minute message on the machine.

Tom recommends we concentrate on Senator Kerry's fax contacts and his voice mail as they are in the middle of moving their campaign office. Please keep a personal checklist regarding your contacts to help organize your calls/emails/faxes.

Urge EVERYONE you can to join in this historic campaign for 9-11 truth. Call, email, fax the contact list at the bottom of this email, and then post the entire action alert below and email this action EVERYWHERE you can. Please make your contacts between 9 am and 5 pm EST.

Thanks for all your hard work. I contacted Nancy Pelosi, Hastert and Tom Kean's offices today between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time (I live in California). In addition to the letter provided by the Family Steering Committee, I added my own personal notes. I will make follow up calls to these folks either Tuesday p.m. or Wednesday a.m. and will contact the others at that time as well. I have also written letters to the NY Times and Washington Post regarding this issue, but as of yet, have not been contacted back by either
newspaper. One point I try to make clear to the public is that President Bush has only committed to ONE HOUR OF HIS LIFE to be interviewed on behalf of 3000 victims' families and that is a disgrace.

Good luck with this campaign (for all of us) and if there's anything else I can do from this end please let me know.

I swear to you, TNOE, you are so correct.

It makes a HUGE difference if people call or write or email or fax. It's important enough to me that I put that TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard number in my sig line so it's on every one of my posts.

Let me just remind you guys that, when I was in radio every day, ANYTIME, repeat, ANYTIME we had letters coming in about something, or a call to the program director's office or the general manager's office - EVEN ONE got serious attention. That's because it was ALWAYS assumed that if one person cared enough to write or call, that actually represented MANY more people who shared that view, but were either too busy or lazy or apathetic (or maybe driving) to do so, themselves. I saw this happen over and over and over and over and over and over... BELIEVE ME, this is true. A SINGLE comment that mentioned me by name at this one station where I worked - saved my job for almost a year - amidst some pretty hostile management, too.

AND, ONE letter to the AP brass when I was there, something I did that they liked, had positive reverberations for me, FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS afterwards. LONG after the coverage itself was forgotten. ONE letter!

So if a whole bunch of us good guys (not just here at DU, but all over the place) are writing letters and faxes and emails, and making phone calls, imagine the tsunami that's building as a result! WE have to make a stink about it, first. THEN, they follow suit. Believe me, the freepers and dittoheads and other mindless minions of the Limbaughs and Hannitys and those other weenies are poised to attack, en masse. WE SHOULD, TOO! At the very least, we need OUR voices to counter-act theirs.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE (and I apologize for shouting) that this is PARTICULARLY CRITICAL since bush is trying to position himself as "Mr. 9/11" in his campaign commercials.

Dear Honorable ..............:

I have been following the Independent 9-11 Commission with increasing interest. Many citizens have become aware that 9-11 is NOT a partisan political issue. Growing numbers of American citizens are realizing that the overriding concern of honest government is a fundamental matter which affects ALL Americans.

The way that President Bush has stonewalled the 9-11 investigation has been very suspicious. Instead of cooperating with this bi-partisan commission, there appears a continual obfuscation from key members of the administration.

President Bush has a duty to the American people to testify to ALL commission members and give a complete accounting of facts that he has about September 11th. His offer to appear for ONE hour is a blatant insult and slap in the face to every citizen of this country and makes a mockery of our democracy.

I urge you to honor your oath to the American people and take actions to call those who were in charge at the time surrounding 9-11 to testify under OATH to the FULL Commission. These people would obviously include President Bush, Vice-President Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfield, Gen. Richard Myers etc. It is also imperative that the Presidential Daily Briefing of August 9th be given to the FULL Commission as evidence.

Decency also demands that President Bush be sworn in to answer the 9-11 Family Steering Committee legitimate twenty three questions.

If this Independent 9-11 Commission is to have even a shred of credibility in the future, the people in charge of the failed security of 9-11 must be called to legally testify. Anything less from your position clearly shows a complicit weakness and looks extremely suspect to ANY Americans who are paying a modicum of attention.
