A very surprising online poll (AFA, of all groups)...
I received an email today from the American Family Association about participation in an online poll:

AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION ONLINE POLL
YOUR VOTE IS NEEDED NOW!

You help is requested in gaining the opinion of on-line voters to the
following question. Whom do you favor for the next President of the United
States - John Kerry, George W. Bush, or Ralph Nader?

Go to http://www.onlinepolls.net/pollv1/default.aspx?pid=10 to express
your opinion.

Cast your vote. Forward to a friend. Help us feel the pulse of America.

Thanks,

Don

Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association

Anyhow, I took the online poll and check out the latest results:

Poll Results
Whom do you favor for the next President of the United States?
John Kerry 90.76 % 5,688 vote(s)
George Bush 3.26 % 204 vote(s)
Ralph Nader 5.98 % 375 vote(s)
Total: 6,267 vote(s)

For those not familiar with AFA, it's one of the oldest and largest conservative "pro-family" assocoations out there, and their polls are, for the most part, invitation only.

Can you believe more people picked Nader over Bush?????

Just another indication that the "toast" is ready (as in Shrub is toast). :bounce:

THANK THE PRESIDENT FOR TAKING A STAND FOR MARRIAGE
Send your message directly to the White House
President Bush has announced his support for a federal marriage amendment. The homosexual "marriage" advocates are sure to bombard him with hate mail. Please send him a thank you. He needs to know we appreciate his bold action.

Tell Mel Karmazin to keep his word, fire Howard Stern immediately!

STDs Growing Among Homosexuals
Several alarming studies reveal that rates of AIDS and syphilis are all escalating within the homosexual community, stumping public health officials who have been trying to promote "safe sex" for almost 20 years. {from AFA Journal)

Lastest is:

Kerry 90.12
Bu$h 3.49
Nader 6.39

I got on their list because I voted on their gay marriage poll which didn't go in their favor either.

Love it, even Nader beats Bu$h!

Go here to vote:

They do want your State and e-mail address, but then you get to vote on some neat things when you are on their opinion list.

Altering a nonscientific poll might be fun.
But these polls don't mean a thing.
Your time could be better spent convincing friends and relatives to give and vote for Kerry.

Subject: Your online poll (Bush campaign ad) is being rigged

To whom it may concern;

Your online poll regarding 9/11 images being used in President Bush's campaign ads is being tampered with by members of FreeRepublic.com, an utlra-conservative web site. They are voting multiple times, as this thread from the site admits:

31. The important thing to note about this is...
...that, despite the #'s voting, the percentages have not changed since last night (when I started the thread).

Plus, this poll isn't easy to freep (not impossible, just a bit more involved than deleting cookies - you have to re-enter unique info every time you vote). Does this indicate the extreme right is turning on Bush? Hmmm...

30. Yet, this morning NPR (once again) calls 2004 election "close"
Preparing for the use of Diebold voting machines, NPR (News Prostitutes for Republicans) again aped the mantra that 2004 "promises to be a close race."

The feature wasn't about this per se but rather about Kerry "ridiculing" Bush (its term) which was nothing more than criticism (the actual subject was whether Kerry had the wherewithal to defend America against terror, as if Bush has proven himself).

I've noticed of late that when Kerry criticizes Bush, its called "ridicule" and when Bush ridicules Kerry, its called "criticism."

36. Something is strange about this...
For those not familiar with AFA, it's one of the oldest and largest conservative "pro-family" assocoations out there, and their polls are, for the most part, invitation only.

Doesn't it surprise you that you were invited to participate? Nothing personal, alg, but when't the last time AFA asked you to participate in one of their polls?

I got "invited" to participate also, and this would be the first and only time I've ever been e-mailed by AFA. Is it possible for them to manipulate the results? To gather e-mails from some other source that maybe a group of us have also posted on? Not being a computer techie, I have no clue. Something is definitely fishy, though.

38. After we all found the Gay Marriage Poll
Those of us who left our real E-Mail addresses got re-invited based on the fact that we voted in the last one. Unfortunately, we couldn't opt-out of this, and we'll probably be re-invited to the next poll. I think the AFA should officially stay out of on-line polls because the polls officially have a pro-gay constituency.
