Dean takes campaign fight to Texas

Austin is one of the more liberal areas in the Republican stronghold of Texas. In an Internet posting, Dean campaign manager Joe Trippi reminded supporters that the ad could also help build support for the state's Democratic primary, held in March.

Dean is the only candidate who is advertising on television so early in the race. His first ad ran in Iowa this summer and cost the campaign more than $300,000.

aren't the only Texans ashamed of Bush. Most Texans I know remind me that Bush only moved to Texas, and call him a carpetbagger. Austin and Ft. Worth are two places Dems can get a good hearing.

2. National coverage

Yesterday on "Meet the Press" they showed the ad and talked about it a little bit. I was surprised because neither it nor Dean were attacked...they just talked about it.

If the other Democrats want to make inroads here, they had better get down here.
