5. if we get any truth out of this commission
it will be because of people like kristen, mindy kleinberg and the other moms and other victims families.

they are truly american heroes and patriots in our time.

7. Rice is not qualified for any position in government
She is both a liar and incompetent. 9/11 happened under her watch. About the 9/11 commission, she should testify publicly and under oath or we should all demand that she step down from her high and mighty and also undeserved position in government.

9. What a spokeswoman she is!
These WH types thought that all the widows were going to be like Laura and fall into line behind their Man. Well, they didn't count on the intellectualism, anger, and patriotism of these ladies who will not be cowed by the likes of the 'powers' that be.

Good for her...good for them. And good riddance to the bad rubbish.

11. rice's refusal
seriously --

how can her reasons for refusal stand up when rumsfeld, powell and tenet -- all currently holding positions relative to * -- have testified?

i truly want to know if there is a difference.

13. technically there is a difference
Rumsfeld, Powell, etc., have to be questioned and confirmed by Congress. Political appointments to the president's staff do not have to be confirmed by the Senate. Traditionally, political appointments to staff do not have to respond to congressional inquiries. This is the difference they cite. However, plenty of times the privilege has been waived.
