Okay kids...Who wants to catch Rumsfeld in a BIG FAT LIE??
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 09:33 PM by SoCalDem
I just heard him say.."I don't think I've even MET him (Clarke) more than 2 or 3 times in MY LIFE".. Lehrer report 3/25/04

Remember the "Mr. Lay" comments that Bush made.... ??...

Rumsfeld worked in the SAME ADMINSTRATIONS AS CLARKE DID..

I find it very hard to imagine that they "never met".. Let's see if we can get "our google" on and help Donald jog his memory..

There HAVE to be pictures or stories that go way back, that include the two of them.. No one from Bush's camp will be very forthcoming..

It's important to document the LIES...

3. Rumsfeld sounded like such a dumbass tonight...
He basically said, well we tried to fight terrorism but it's not our fault because it's too hard to fully protect the country.

4. He could be telling the truth
Remember they did not allow Clarke to talk to the "Principals" only their deputies.

7. If it is true, it is more damning evidence against them -
hardly a defense.

8. According to ABC
"In the elder Bush's administration, Clarke was the Assistant Secretary of State for Politico-Military Affairs. In that capacity, he coordinated State Department support of Desert Storm and led efforts to create a post-war security architecture. Clarke was appointed to the National Security Council staff in 1992.

In the Reagan administration, Clarke was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence."

Wouldn't Rummy have met with him during the first Bush administration?

9. EXACTLY.. He's a bald-faced liar..
There have got to be pictures somewhere or mentions of them at various meetings and such..

I think I will e-mail Clarke, and remind him that Rumsfeld is doing the "I've only met Mr.Lay a few times, and he was supporting Ann Richards"...routiine on him..

Maybe in his 30 years of memorabilia, he has some pictures or clippings that could verify that Rummy "Knows" him way better than he is pretending..

11. Rummy wasnt in the 1st Bush administration.
He ran against Bush41 for president. There was no love loss between Rummy and 41. He was in the business world for 24 years between Ford and Shrub. Thats why everyone was shocked that shrub asked him. This is all from the ABC Primetime special tonight. So he wouldn't have met Clarke before shrub was in office .
