Bush's Funny War
I found this article and I just had to post it. Perhaps it will encourage some of you to get on the phone and call the White House,
write letters to your representatives, the tv stations and the newspaper editors. Whatever you do, don't let Bush* get away with this one.

Bush's Funny War
By Charles Cutter
Mar 25, 2004, 20:36

On Wednesday night, from the comfort and safety of a black tie affair in Washington, a smiling George W. Bush entertained his audience with a scripted joke about the war in Iraq. Within hours of this levity, two more U.S. soldiers died fighting in Mr. Bush’s funny war.
Mr. Bush was performing at the 60th annual dinner for the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association. During the presentation of a slide show - featuring photos of Bush and his people, with Mr. Bush providing the humorous captions - a picture was shown of the president looking under furniture, searching in vain for some misplaced item. He then provided the side-splitting caption: "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere."

"Those weapons" represent Mr. Bush’s casus belli for the invasion of Iraq - the heart of his rationale for a military action that has claimed, as of this writing, the lives of 589 American soldiers. And, of course, "those weapons" didn’t exist. "We were all wrong," said David Kay, Mr. Bush’s hand-picked weapons inspector.

"All wrong." The imminent-threat-that-wasn’t. The facts that were fantasy. But in the world of George W. Bush, it’s good for a laugh. Unfortunately, it was not such a lighthearted day for our troops in Iraq. In Taji, on Wednesday, one U.S. soldier was killed in combat, and another wounded. Shortly after midnight (Washington time), another was killed by a roadside bomb; two others were also wounded.

(more) Please read the entire article and don't forget to pass it on to others.

1. It always rankles me
to see Bush sitting in his posh office talking about how much he is doing to either protect America by going after terrorists or securing a safe Iraq.

EXCUSE ME?????

He doesn't even have a scuff on his shiny shoes. HE ain't doing nuthin', but he sure is putting a lot of regular people in harms way and doing the dirty work that he takes credit for.

2. What rankles me is that
his handlers try to portray him as a brave hero when is too cowardly to even face the American public. Free speech zones are for cowards!

3. I sent him an email last night
that said he wasn't showing any leadership at all by hiding from the 9-11 commission.

It won't do any good, but it made me feel a lot better. :)

I do wish about a million people would overwhelm the Whitehouse.gov computers with emails like that, though.

6. He's telling those jokes
...to a bunch of plutocrats who, if they have children military age, will never have to worry about those children going to a war zone or even breaking a sweat working to better the country they live in. He knows his audience well, and his audience couldn't possibly care less that working class kids are being shipped off to Iraq to act as targets for the greater glory of the Bush family.

Putin once told Bush that bin Laden was dangerous because westerners "are as dust to him." Well, the working class is like something the plutocrat would scrape off his shoe were he to stray off the carpet laid for his visit. That 600 or more have died from battle or suicide doesn't matter to them. We are not of their class; we are not human. That 600 are dead because of an "oops" doesn't occur to them. I mean, look at the egg all over Bush's face. Isn't that just a hoot and a holler!

play that audio over pictures of the funerals he does not attend. add pictures of the maimed trying to learn to live again. play his joke audio again. lastly do not forget to add a line about how they won't even pay for it. beat the president with his own words. they are the best weapons.
