From a Reuter's story putting Shrub Incs. slams against Clarke "into context."

"Bare-knuckled attacks in U.S. politics go way back... More recently, there were ... efforts by supporters of Bill Clinton to describe White House intern Monica Lewinsky as a stalker." (This is the only reference made to the entire Clinton affair.)

Yep - that's the image I remember from the whole "Whitewater" investigation - Bill's supporters trying to sling mud on Monica while the Republican choir sang a Hymn of love, compassion, and above all else fairness and balance.

Remeber the first seven words from Four Weddings and Funeral? Repeat them about 100 times, please.
