Anyone else catch Bill Clinton's little flub last night
Edited on Fri Mar-26-04 10:37 AM by Bandit
He was praising all the Democratic candidates and starting by praising Carol Mosely Braun who was running for President and said that America would someday indeed have a woman vice-president. I just found that an odd thing for him to say. It was as if he just couldn't bring himself to say a woman could be President. It seemed to me he got a bit red right after he said that so I think he caught his flub. Maybe I'm way off base and it was intential but don't think so.

2. I missed that.
He should have said president, but he is probably of the mindset like so many others are, that a woman will first have to be vice-president before being elected president. A little slip, too bad he didn't correct himself.

3. Heard it and wondered if anyone talked to Hil about being a VP
..however realized that they would never put (gasp) two people from the north on the same ticket (well maybe they could peddle her as being from AK). And, unfortunately, women aren't going to stand a chance now because of all this macho terrorist stuff for about 50 more years. In fact did you hear Clinto reference about how this macho stuff is getting tiring????????

5. Also the Other Flub (re: GORE)
Said something about greatest VP, then, "and you should have been..." (President), but there was loud applause and when he resumed talking he didn't continue with the upgrade part of it.

6. I think he just figures it will be a woman veep first before president
He could have also been subliminally telling us about Hillary being Kerry's veep?

7. I heard it last night and.........
again this morning. I thought it was strange because he caught himself, paused ever so briefly, then went on with the mistake. I thought he would have corrected himself immediately but he did not.

8. I think it's a safe bet that we'll have a woman vice-president before
Edited on Fri Mar-26-04 12:20 PM by The Backlash Cometh
we get a woman president. In fact, I predict that the first female president will probably have already served as vice-president. I think it will be the only way that the country will warm up to her.

10. I noticed...
He definitely meant to say President, said Vice, and realizing his error tried to emphasize "President" but since the full word vice had been spoken, he couldn't cover very well. It was an interesting flub, but there has been alot of talk about women VP's this election cycle (from both sides of the aisle) so it's not too surprising that it would be in his head.
