Bush Joke about WMD is the worst thing he's ever done.
This must be kept alive as long as possible. Hang this around his neck. Can you imagine what we'd be hearing if a Democrat said it.

1. The worst thing he did was invade Iraq
Joking about it is icing on the crap-cake, so to speak.

2. Yep
We know exactly what would happen. The "liberal media" would pounce on it, and Insannity, O'Lielly, Limpballs, and Ann the Man would "Savage" it for all it was worth. They'd launch their own smear campaign.

20. how about David Corn? he was there....
http://www.thenation.com/capitalgames/index.mhtml?bid=3&pid=1336

Bush says he is preparing for a tough election fight; then on the large video screens a picture flashes showing him wearing a boxing robe while sitting at his desk. Bush notes he spends "a lot of time on the phone listening to our European allies." Then we see a photo of him on the phone with a finger in his ear. There were funny bits about Skull and Bones, his mother, and Dick Cheney. But at one point, Bush showed a photo of himself looking for something out a window in the Oval Office, and he said, "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere."

The audience laughed. I grimaced. But that wasn't the end of it. After a few more slides, there was a shot of Bush looking under furniture in the Oval Office. "Nope," he said. "No weapons over there." More laughter. Then another picture of Bush searching in his office: "Maybe under here." Laughter again.

Disapproval must have registered upon my face, for one of my tablemates said, "Come on, David, this is funny." I wanted to reply, Over 500 Americans and literally countless Iraqis are dead because of a war that was supposedly fought to find weapons of mass destruction, and Bush is joking about it. Instead, I took a long drink of the lovely white wine that had come with our dinner. It's not as if I was in the middle of a talk-show debate and had to respond. This was certainly one of those occasions in which you either get it or don't. And I wasn't getting it. Or maybe my neighbor wasn't.

3. not by a long long long long shot...

it's bad gaffe, but it isn't lying to the congress and nation and promoting a pre-emptive invasion.

or any of a number of genuine outrages that really hurt people.

9. Soldier's died looking for those weapons.
Bushie, trying to be funny, rubbed salt into those wounds of the families still grieving for their loved ones.

Disgraceful. It makes me angry just thinking about it, and I hope more people express their disgust over this.

Bush isn't a comedian - hypothetically, he's supposed to be an elected public official. Oh, and Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces. It's a totally different ball game.

24. He did much worse. Invading Iraq, Billions in tax cuts...
...that middle and lower class didn't see, trashing the environment, embracing companies off-shoring so they don't have to pay livable wages anymore, massive unemployment, and the ignoring of standardized health care if it does not benefit his buddies in the insurance or pharmaceutical industry. And these are only the ones off the top of my head. This is more of a "throw it on the pile with the rest" thing.

I agree though, we need to beat on this, and everything else until people listen, and get that clown out of office, by any means necessary.

A democrat would not need to say anything like what * said to get trashed. The liberal newspapers and radio do it on a daily basis, with much jucier and inventive bald faced lies (remember "CLINTON STEALING WHITE HOUSE SILVERWARE!") and then printing a 1 sentence retraction 2 weeks later on page 12 of the classified ads.

25. Bad timing. Tasteless jokes not good when you are being exposed
as a lying, traitorous fraud.

His laugh at Karla Faye Tucker and his trifecta joke (repeated often) were perhaps more disgusting, but back then the media could make love to him in public and get away with him. Now he's the one their parents' warned them about, and they have to meet in dark rooms and pretend to not like each other in public.

Wait til he goes a step further and jilts them, the way his father did. Hell hath no fury like an egotistical media scorned.

35. It's not them, it's the parent corporations, plus the VRWC
The Repubs made an effort to put activists into the media, so they have a few plants--Crowley, Seelye, Connally and the like-- who pose as journalists, but are really campaign advertisers. The liberals have no counterpart to these.

But the big problem is that the owners of the media outlets are large multi-national conglomerates who make a lot more money from the tax cuts Bush gave them than they do from their media departments. So they consider the news media to simply be an advertising department for the right wing cause. They hire editors, anchors, writers and waterboys with that cause in mind. Liberals slip through, but since liberals are trying to restore the dignity of the profession of journalism, whereas conservatives are tryin only to get Republicans elected, the liberals don't have as great an impact on the bias as the Republicans do.

The things that really p.o.'d me were the admin lying about the air being ok in NY after 9/11 and allowing snowmobiles in the protected areas in Yellowstone. The whole Medicare thing also ranks near the top.

It's funny but everyone has their own thing that send them over the edge.
