al Qaeda contest part 2 - Carville sweetens the pot

In my post yesterday concerning the Center for American progress' contest to find a single instance where Rice, Vice President Cheney or President Bush said "al Qaeda" or "bin Laden" in public between Bush Inauguration and 9/11, there is now this:

No winners yet, but political strategist James Carville has sweetened the pot. Yesterday on CNN's Crossfire, Carville promised a copy of his book to the first person to win the "Beat the Progress Report" contest by finding proof of President Bush, Vice President Cheney or National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice saying the words "al Qaeda" or "bin Laden" between the time they took office and 9/10/01. actually, I love Carville.

I bet Condi is already scrambling to find anything. Maybe just something that was mispronounced by Bush and sounded like al Qaeda

3. I have been wondering about this!!

I have been wondering if somebody could search all the speeches and press conferences to see how many times they said "terrorism" vs. how many times they said "ICBMs from rogue nations" -- so I love this idea from Carville!! Missile defense was ALL we heard from them until 9/11.

They built a bridge to the 1980s, as if they could just time warp us back to the Reagan era -- which figures, when you consider how many people in Bush's cabinet came in as recycled, out-of-date hacks.

4. They were brought up countless times during Cheney's Counter-terrorism

Task Force meetings. Just get the minutes from all the meetings he held to prove my assertion. :evilgrin:

I'm sure your book's good and all, but putting up one of the free copies you get from the publisher isn't offering much of a "prize".
