That's not a lie; that's opinion. Many Americans probably shared that same 180 degree change in opinion between 2001 and now.

What the anti-Clarkes can't seem to get through their thick skulls is that opinions are not lies. A lie would be:

Before: "The President pulled us into a room on that date and told us to look into Iraq."
After: "The President never pulled us into a room on that date."

That would, indeed, be a lie: two factual statements contradicting each other. (And by the way, the only person who lied about that meeting is BUSH.)
