Poll question: So I Ask Again Friends: When Do The rePublicans Start 'Jumping Ship' ???
Edited on Sun Mar-28-04 09:15 PM by WillyT
Re-Posted For The Post-Clarke Testimony Version. What say you NOW???

******

As I recall, Tricky Dick did not resign until his own party informed him that they could not prevent an Impeachment vote in the House. In fact, some rePublicans said they would vote with the Dems TO Impeach. They saw the writing on the wall.

Now, considering the fact that the current crop of rePublicans might want to hold on to their seats in Congress more than they want to fight to the death (give up those seats) for the Boy Chimp...

When do you think we will start seeing signs of rePublican 'disloyalty' to the unelected warmonger???

no dingbat option.

I think by or about June things will heat up so much it'll be time. Everything takes a while to sink in.

3. Already seeing it, if only subtly.
One of our local congresspersons, Sue Myrick, has long been known as a rubber stamp for the Bush administration; she sits on the Rules committee, making her part of the lower tier of House GOP Leadership. She's started to criticize the Bush Administration on its reckless fiscal policy, spending, that sort of thing. (Of course she has no qualms with any spending in her own district...)

4. They're already starting to buck a bit...
For instance, bush* won't allow Rice's public testimony but there is increasing disagreement on that from the right side of the aisle. On CNN's Late Edition today, Shays actually called the refusal "foolish"...even though it's the shrub (rove)-approved plan of inaction. I haven't heard many of them supporting the refusal.

7. Yep, There's Been A Lot Of rePublican Head-Shaking Over...
Condi's refusal to tetify under oath in public. Many are probably wondering how this blunder can be allowed to stand.

<snip>

Commissioner John Lehman, another Republican, said Rice "has nothing to hide, and yet this is creating the impression for honest Americans all over the country and people all over the world that the White House has something to hide, that Condi Rice has something to hide."

"And if they do, we sure haven't found it. There are no smoking guns. That's what makes this so absurd. It's a political blunder of the first order," Lehman told ABC's "This Week."

A White House ally, Richard Perle, said, "I think she would be wise to testify."

Perle, who resigned last month as an adviser to the Pentagon, said he recognized the constitutional concerns at issue. "Sometimes you have to set those aside because the circumstances require it," he said in a televised interview.

5. Normie Coleman will be the last rat off the ship
Of course, it's hard to jump when your lips are Super Glued to the captain's ass.

There was just an article in the Star Tribune this past week about all the phone calls he's made for Bush's election.

Once Bush goes down, it will be fun watching the little weasel try and tap dance his way out of his relationship with Shrub.

11. Is it an accident this comes to a head to late for a repub choice?
If the recent frenzy's had come 6 months ago, I would bet there would
be republican contenders and primaries. A chance for the republicans to hear Bush cut down by other republicans, a shrunken war chest, disenfranchised repubs whose superior contender lost to Bush.

Do you think Dems delayed so we would be sure to have just Bush to deal with, with his obvious weaknesses?

Or the Repubs delayed to keep their people unified behind the incumbent instead of having a choice?

You didn't think "I got mine screw you" ended at the courthouse door, did you? These guys will rat each other out in a heartbeat when they recognize the inevitable.

15. Yes, they are jumping ship in droves
BUT, the Busheviks know this and are looking to replenish with 3,000,000 new "voters" culled from the ranks of the American Taliban.

Add in the Manual Disenfranchisement Tactics used in 2000 and 2002, combine that with the Electronic Ballot Tampering pioneered in Georgia and Minnesota 2002, consider that each will be steped up accordingly and with the certain sure knowledge that Corporate TV Pravda would NEVER expose their Imperial Masters.

Kerry will have to win by 10% to "win in a squeaker".

16. 'Kerry will have to win by 10% to "win in a squeaker"'. --- Agreed !!!
The margin of victory NEEDS to be self-evident to everyone.

I'm afraid we cannot go through another Election 2000 drama without there being violence this time.

My stomach is already in knots, and we still have 7 months to go.

Sigh...

24. The Pins Are All Set Up --- Read Today's Krugman !!!
<snip>

Where will it end? In his new book, "Worse Than Watergate," John Dean, of Watergate fame, says, "I've been watching all the elements fall into place for two possible political catastrophes, one that will take the air out of the Bush-Cheney balloon and the other, far more disquieting, that will take the air out of democracy."

<snip>

He even takes a swipe at Wolfie... Priceless!!!

Krugman :yourock:
