although it was created (and paid for) by congressional legislation and the signature of Bush it is an independent commission so Condi's arguments about not testifying before congress and the separation of powers don't float do they?

How long does it take to get a subpoena?
According to Jaime G.(last week on CSPAN) on the 911 Commission, that would not be an option because "the commission ends in the summer and the subpoena process would take longer than that.."

I thought that was so strange when she said that because I thought they could be done in a few hours.
