So far, I've muted over 25.6 million dollars worth of Bush ads
You'd think it's October the way I keep the TV remote right next to me, ready to pounce like a cat on the mute button whenever another lying Bush ad comes on TV. By my 'conservative' estimates, I figure I've muted over 25 million dollars worth of ads. Keep it up Georgie. You'll be out of money by July, and I'll still hate your party for all the good reasons you've given me.
I do feel sorry for the people whose ads follow Bush's, because I usually don't UN-MUTE the TV until a couple of ads past the Bush ad. Do the TV stations reduce the price that they charge for the ads, when those ads follow Bush ads, since I am sure that there are others that are muting the subsequent ads? Keep that in mind advertisers. You don't want to waste your advertising money...
...like Bush is doing.

1. I prefer shooting rubber bands at the TV
every time one comes on. It's hell living in a "swing state".

2. My remote is my best friend
I hit the mute button when Bush comes on, change the channel, or turn off the TV completely.
Then I head to the computer to hear Air America Radio.
Thank Goodness for an alternative!

3. I give him the finger (and mute it)
every time I see one come on, and boy are my fingers getting tired.

4. The problem is
that many Americans DO NOT mute the Joseph Goebbels Nazi like propaganda and, in fact, take it as the truth.
Or worst--instead of doing a little reading or any kind of research- use it as their basis for voting for Bushco over Kerry.
The one thing CNN does well is take the political ads and (that guy from Reliable Sources) shows how much bullspit they are.

5. The latest polls show Bush's approval ratings crashing downward
in spite of the money he is wasting on all the ads. Apparently Americans are able to see through his lies.

7. One way to understand the depth of disgust
with the current occupants is to measure how many ads you are willing to listen to. I used to listen to them all, and simply laugh or become mildly irritated. Now, it is all I can do to prevent myself from throwing the nearest heavy object at the television.

I wonder if someone would do a poll regarding who is able to stomach these atrocious paid commercials long enough to stay for the end? I would guess I can reach the remote and have the channel changed in less than 4/10ths of one second. I'm getting good from practice.

9. Unfortunately, you're not the target audience.
This administration has built its entire existence on creating and promoting fear in the public, and I'm afraid that these ads are fairly effective at pressing those buttons again. Nice to see that ads like the current Moveon "Bush = failure" ad are out there countering some of the Bush garbage.

Re: running out of money - we wish, but thanks to Bush's tax cuts, the wealthy have plenty of money to keep the Bush cash machine well stocked. We just have to hope that we can effectively counter the ads and that people pay attention to the scandals.

10. But there is some good news..
Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 03:41 PM by Nightjock
In the swing states where Bush is heavily spending money on his "Fairy Tale" commercials, the pro Kerry commercials are running heavy too. As a matter of fact, thanks to the MoveOn people and others like them, thier are MORE Kerry ads than Bushco.!!!!!!!!!!

You gotta love it!

That's why President Cheaney and his little wooden lap doll are trying to shut them down.

11. Bush has been "Recalled" a gazillion times!
Hubby hits the "recall" button on our remote every time Snippy Smirk appears on tv--I wish that "recall" button could actually recall him from office, and put Gore in the office he was elected to hold.
