DU Call To Action: Please Help Cool Off The Troops!
I have some email pals in Iraq that I found through the Books For Soldiers site...

Folks...I have been protesting this war since the beginning but what is happening to those poor soldiers under the Mad King George, not enough attention is given to it.

They are being provided next to NOTHING while Halliburton makes a killing, literally, off this war.

Now with the rising heat, literally and figuratively, a lot of people who thought they were going home are facing another summer of 130-plus temperatures. Living hell. The guys I talk to are 19 & 23 years old.

I have sent some cooling products from this site...and now they have a program where for a $10 donation they will send a "misty mate" fan/mister to one of our service people in Iraq. These things work great and are a godsend for them.

Lurking freepers or whoever, post this link in your forums too. This is something I hope we can all agree on. While we feast with our families let's do this small thing to remember those who cannot.

4. I Agree But This Is Something We Can DO NOW!!
That's like saying "we'll pray for you..." These guys really need STUFF! Every day over there is a living hell and mail is the only respite.

I just don't understand why the companies supplying the troops are allowed to make so much money while they are so miserable!!! This I am writing about but also, send the guys a little something....even fans from the dollar store, they love those.

5. They sell the 10 oz mister for $20 + postage, so a $10 donation
getting a mister sent to Iraq is probably a good deal.

7. It Seems To Me That With 200,000 Troops There
There should be 200,000 americans who will part with $10 for these victims of King George.

Some of them are double victims....like the one guy who only joined up cuz he was laid off, had a baby and no jobs in his town.

If anybody knows any good relief organizations for the people of Iraq, I would like to donate to them as well.

6. we sent michael a cooling aid vest and other stuff
he wants out of there, they all want out of there. Put your time also into calling your congressmen and senators and demanding the troops be brought home. They dont want to be there.

9. PS -- IMPOSE WAR TAX!!!
I AM JUST SO FURIOUS AT THE IDEA AT ALL THIS PROFIT BEING MADE OFF OF THIS SUFFERING OF OUR TROOPS & THE IRAQIS!

Why don't we insist that Halliburton et all pay WAR TAX on such profits....so that some of that money goes back to the ones who really suffer for it?? THAT would be supporting the troops...

10. Seding packages to our grandson
Thank for the idea. I passed it on to my son-in-law. We are try our best to make sure Charles has some comforts. Our Easter gift today was some e-mail photos of him. Awesome to see his smiling face! Looks a little thinner tho. We still have no clue as to where he is, but at least we are in touch! He was in front of his barrick tent, second photo posing beside an old car covered in dust, he had written on windshield in the dust BAGCLAP. Had a scarf around his face, the dust is miserable. At leaSt I feel somewhat better today, we just want him safe, and better yet HOME!
