'60 Minutes' to Acknowledge Woodward Ties
I think this is a good move on their part in order to diffuse the right wing bitching that is sure to follow.

NEW YORK - Blindsided by a controversy over its corporate ties to the publisher of Richard Clarke's book, "60 Minutes" has promised that it will not happen again. So, when it reports next Sunday on Bob Woodward's book, "Plan of Attack," "60 Minutes" will say that publisher Simon & Schuster and CBS are both owned by Viacom.

When that wasn't said during the March 21 report on Simon & Schuster subsidiary Free Press' Clarke book — a week later, correspondent Lesley Stahl called it an oversight — it provided fuel for Clarke's critics.

"If you're looking to deflect attention from the content of what was in the Clarke piece, this was a good way to do it," said "60 Minutes" Executive Editor Josh Howard, "and we walked right into the trap."

3. Woodward's new book is supposed to make Clarke's look like a
preschool reader.

Supposedly the WH is anxiously fearing the release of this book.

8. here's a couple of links
HERE WE GO AGAIN ... The four-star flap over Richard Clarke's war on terrorism book all began on "60 Minutes" March 14. Well, guess who's booked for the show on April 18? Journalist Bob Woodward, to tout his own book on the war on terrorism, "Plan of Attack," says New York's Daily News. And the tab reports buzz that the book will be much less kind to the White House than was Woodward's "Bush at War" two years ago.

4. Doesn't matter
The RW will get angry about something else. Maybe whomever interviews him once contributed $5 for a dem dog catcher candidate. They move the target to where it suits them--and you can't beat a moving target.

It's more effective to just ignore their stupid rules and go ahead with journalism. Do you think Fox mentions it every time they show a NYPost headline or promote a Fox/Searchlight film or TV show? Of course not. They only expect "liberals" to be held to that standard.
