If Bush Wanted To Build An Arab Democracy, Why Not Afghanistan First?
Why open a brand new theater in Iraq? Couldn't we do exactly what Bush wants to do, create a shining example of a democratically elected free government in an Arab state, in Afghanistan, a country that wanted and needed our help? Could we not make Afghanistan the model of Democracy and freedom?

Also, wouldn't this give us a better shot at capturing Bin Laden as well?

4. but al Qaeda was in Afghanistan, thus Iraq was the threat
see? It makes perfect sense!

you have a good point though... I don't even recall hearing about setting up democracy in Afghanistan. I guess because Afghanistan's resources and infrastructure just aren't as suitable for lucrative privatisation scams

6. LoL yep.
Althought I guess most people confuse Islamic with Arabic.

They could set up an Islamic Democracy in Afghanistan, which is what I assume we are trying to do.

10. bushco is in the oil/pipeline biz - they're democracy destroyers
they got what they wanted in Afghanistan - the pipeline deal linking Uzbekistan with India and Pakistan. Now it's just a matter of killing "a small number of freedom haters".

Iraq was a gift to the cheneybush from the bin Ladin's and Saddam.

Oil and Money. cheney and bush.

13. Okay, Pardon My Cultural Ignorance. What About Kuwait?
Don't they still owe us? How about a democracy there? My point is that why did we need to open up a brand new country to start an Arab/Islamic democratic nation when there were several other countries to do it in?
