1. That should make for an interesting convention
I wish there were more Dean or Kucinich delegate there to help shape Kerry's platform.

It does take a village to raise a child and it takes a lot of people to defeat the neo-cons.

make for an interesting convention.
Wish Kucinich had more weight to throw.

3. Wow...the Mass Media really did a number on Dean.
He should have kept his mouth shut about splitting up Big Biz and the Media. Bad move on his part.

4. Dean lost by losing Iowa, and the media was very kind to him
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 11:46 PM by AP
up until when it didn't matter any longer -- ie, AFTER he lost Iowa.

After he lost Iowa, they let loose with all they stuff they wanted to say before but didn't because they were trying to get him a victory so that Bush could trounce him.

When Dean saw the polls two weeks before Iowa, and saw which way it was going, he started to blame the media. But the fact is, they cheered him on all summer. Dean only needs to blame himself for not closing the deal. However, I think he was never running to win. He was only running to establish a high bar for criticizing Bush, which would allow the eventual nominee to be hard on Bush without sounding like he was brutalizing Bush. Dean was the bad cop. Dean was just softening Bush up for the eventual nominee.

That's my read.

6. That's what's so odd about the whole thing.

At least to me.

Looking back at the polls from just before Iowa ( http://www.pollingreport.com/wh04dem.htm ) Kerry was still in single digits. Even as late as 4 days before, Kerry was still around 7-9% in many polls. All of a sudden Iowa comes and all the numbers just switched for Dean and Kerry.

From what I could see many polls showed Kerry even losing a point or two during the last week before Iowa.

People must have been fibbing to the poll-takers because they sure don't reflect the trouncing Kerry inflicted upon the rest of the candidates. Looks to me like the voters pulled a fast one on us.

I just find that odd. That, or I just can't read polls very well.

7. Polls show Bush still just under 50%.
So, maybe polls can be cooked?

8. I'm sure they can be.
So, in this case, who was doing the cooking? and why?

5. Dean is responsible for dean..
voters voted..
I'm so tired of the Dean Bs.. He lost because he was not wanted by a VAST majority of the D voters. Period.
