another 'man on the street' experience
This morning I was in a little gift shop when I noticed a small crowd gathering by the plate glass window. I glanced over to see what they were looking at and at first I thought there was a mini tornado going past or something. There was like a whirlwind of SOMETHING so thick you could barely see out. I went over to the window to join the watchers and we decided that it was a giant swarm of some type of bugs.I think they were bees, but at one point someone said they were locusts. The moment the locusts possibility was mentioned, the guy next to me visibly groaned, and with total sincerity said,"NOW look what Bush has done to us!!"

For a second there was total silence,a lot of head nodding, and just a general acceptance in the room that the guy was probably correct, but then everyone laughed and the Bush rants began. Every person in that store was ripping him apart, and having big fun doing it. I know we can't afford to be over confident, but I see stuff like this and know we've got a fighting chance.

2. I was at a coffee shop on Sunday
Republican country. A guy walked in with a tee shirt that had a big picture of Bush's head on top a Pez dispenser with a bunch of candy tablets shooting out, all labeled "LIES".

I said "Nice shirt!"

He said "Thanks"

4. The Deadly Mantis
Your story reminded me of the day Bush was installed President, Jan 20 2001, I put on an old tape of The Deadly Mantis, the black and white classic about that horrific giant locust flying over Washington monuments before landing and causing all kinds of destruction and death. A rather appropriate choice for that tragic day.

The movie was over in 2 hours but our nightmare is going on for 4 years now. Let's hope this cancerous monster is killed in November.

8. Pulled up behind a "Bush Knew" bumper sticker in the drive-thru bank line
Yesterday. They also had an "Impeach Bush" sign. The guy was just pulling out. I gave him a honk and a big v-sign, and he waved back.

Not so amazing, except this is Republican country BIG TIME. I have never seen a single anti-Bush sign anywhere. I don't have the nerve to put anything on my car.

Made my day.
