HELP!!!!!! Need a rebuttal to totally brainwashed American
Below you will find a response from an unidentified little league coach responding to a response from me. I need to come up with a way to reach this guy.

ok, you use a lot of nice big words but think of this "who would Osama want in office?" At least Bush is willing to go after the terrorist..would Kerry? I doubt it. Will it take a Mushroom cloud over L.A. to wake you UP...

Love..

XXXXXXX,

No doubt that is a sad poem. As I am sure it's intent is to keep that emotion alive in certain American circles. It looks like one of those emails that is widely circulated with an unknown origin. The events of September 11, 2001, were very tragic, it is hard to now become upset about it. But it is an event that has been used over and over for political means. Saddam Hussein or Iraq had NOTHING to do with that tragedy. The emotions of the American people have been exploited to further the aims of a neo-con loaded administration that wishes to wage war in the middle east and central Aisa to further their agenda of global hegemony and secure the remaining oil supplies of the earth. If you really want to research this, I suggest that you go to this site http://www.newamericancentury.org/ and click on to the Defense and National Security link on the left hand side. There you will find a manifesto that includes amongst others things a campaign to wage war with Iraq. The document requires a download. This document was written in 2000. It's signatories include Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, Elliot Abrahams and a host of other hawks and war mongers that permeat this administration. You will also notice, if you truly want to get at the truth and read the document, that the Project for a New American Century also states that it will be necessary to have a "Pearl Harbor" type of event to take place in America in order to gain the backing of the American public to wage war in Iraq, and beyond. Which believe me is coming, regardless which party, that being democrat or republican, occupies the White House, I fear. If you do take the time to read the document, which was written almost two years before the attacks of 9/11 you will find that the foreign policy advocated in it mirrors that of this current administration.

We, the American people have been lied to, on many fronts. These are frightening times for our country and our children. There are many accomplices in this deception, they occupy both parties. Truly there is cause for great concern. I have been a registered Republican my entire voting life. However, over the last two years I have done exhaustive research into our government and it's unlawfulness and it's assault upon our Country why America has slept. If you really want to know what is going on, you should educate yourself. What is sad is that most Americans are too busy making a living, raising children, and dealing with their everyday stresses to be able to afford the time that I have taken to examine many issues. I don't work anymore and have lots of time. However, sometimes I wish I didn't know the information I have discovered. But because I do, I watch world events everyday, and I don't get my information from the corporate owned nightly news, or talk radio. Again, if you are really interested, as all Americans should be, I would be glad to share more links and data with you.

Would be more that happy to be of assistance

1. willing to go after the terrorist?
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 06:54 PM by Goldom
Osama doesn't live in Iraq.

and quite clearly, he wants Bush in office. Osama had 3 points he declared why he did 9/11 for, I forget them all, one was us having troops in Saudi, and Bush gave him every one of the things he wanted.

Osama wants Bush
Because only Bush is stupid enough to do every damn thing possible to piss off Arabs even more than they're already pissed off. Everything Bush does plays right into Osama's hands.

And why in the world would Kerry not go after the terrorists, the real terrorists that are all over the world? I'd really like for one of these goofballs to explain that.

8. Absolutely. For years, Bin Laden has been telling the Arab world that
the Americans want to invade a Muslim country and steal their oil. This was actually one of the most compelling reasons not to invade Iraq; because it would give Bin Laden all he ever wanted.

People in the ME were relatively supportive of our attack on Afghanistan, but they have turned completely against us over the invasion of Iraq. It almost feels as though Bin Laden and Bush were in cahoots to sow discord in the ME.

Bin Laden is dreaming of another 4 years for Bush. Our CIC has made us a laughingstock throughout the world and garnered support for Bin Laden's movement. Now he can point to America and say, "See. I told you so." Bin Laden has been trying to provoke a Holy War for many years. Sadly he got his wish.

2. Sounds hopeless. The guy doesn't like you....
"use a lot of nice big words" is code for "you are an elitest asshole who got better grades than me in high school and humiliated me in front of girls. I hate you."

Also, the guy has convinced himself (or rather let himself be convinced by others) that Kerry would be "weak on terrorism." He has no intention of letting facts interfere with his nice warm cocooning world view.

When exchanges get unfriendly, I've learned to drop them. Think of it as passing the baton to the next well-meaning person who will try to pierce this person's smug sense of self-satisfaction.

I think we should start spending this time writing to our representatives.

3. Your choice
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 06:55 PM by wryter2000
1) Osama has said he wants Bush because Bush is a foolish man and is good for his (OBL's) jihad. Or
2) I don't let terrorists dictate who I'm going to vote for.

5. Work with the willing.........
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 06:58 PM by anarchy1999
After a couple of tough years of activism in the wasteland of "compassionate conservatism" known as Dallas, the "work with the willing" philosophy is what my husband lives by and tries to keep me on the path of.

Sometimes you just can't open eyes, change hardened hearts or educate simple minds. Sometimes you just have to walk away.

Too much FauxNews, o'Reilly and Condi - "mushroom cloud".

Heard too much of mass graves, torture rooms and rape rooms today, as well.

6. Osama supports Bush
Because Bush legitimizes his cause -- Clinton just treated him like a common thug and that pissed Osama off more than anything -- nobody took him seriously

Now Bush has elevated him to the status of a statesman -- he actually is making proposals to countries in the EU!!!!

Kerry will put him back into his place!

7. Good Attempt
And don't give in to what the others here are saying. We need to convince these people, because they are the same people we'll be paying for when all is said and done. It's better to teach them to fish rather than just show them where the fish are.

9. BUSH IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR BIN LADEN
Tell your "friend" the following;

"Friend, since I am a good God fearin' Christian, I will temper (big fancy liberal word) my remarks because I really care about you and your family's safety. The Iraq invasion is a dream come true for Bin Laden for the following reasons: Bush has antagonized all of our former friends in the world, a generation of young men and women are being sent to their deaths, and most horrifying is the fact that the Iraqi invasion as ripped the scab off the wound and now that wound is bleeding and festering a new breed of angrier, scarier, and more sophisticated terrorist all over the World. Because I care about my safety, your safety, and that of your family, I cannot sit by and watch our president lead so many to their deaths and leave America standing alone under the angry glare of the world. I don't want to see your children killed in a fraudulent war or by a terrorist act. And I know of no other way to save your family and the world than to vote Mr. Bush out of office. God Bless"

That will stop him right in his tracks. I"ve had to do something similar with a well meaning person that thought they were conservative until his son was shipped out to Iraq. Now he wants BUsh out!

11. Kerry is the LAST person the terrorists want. Kerry's 1997 book
THE NEW WAR alerted to global terror and its funding by international governments.

Kerry knows EXACTLY how to get to their funding. Kerry also had Bin Laden's brother indicted for his money laundering in BCCI.

Do you think Bush even bothered to read Kerry's book?

Kerry was WAY ahead of the rest of the country in regard to antiterror efforts.

12. "ok, you use a lot of nice big words"
translates to "My brain is turned off and I respond only to emotional input."

So wail on the shrub for buying his girlfriend an illegal abortion. Make no attempt to validate your stance, and under no circumstances back off even an inch, no matter what response you get.

It's called fighting fire with fire.

18. Tell him:

"I don't know Osama or Usama or whatever-the-@#$% his name is, and I don't even know anybody who knows him, so I can't pretend to guess what he might think about who ought to be president of the US&A. But you know what? It doesn't matter what he thinks, because OBL or UBL doesn't get to vote here, see? It's the people like you and me that get to vote here: we get to say who we think would be best for the country. And I'll be voting for somebody that can read an 11 page security brief every morning, not somebody that wants the brief boiled down to a page and a half and still can't be bothered to read it. Ad libitum similarly."
