I hope someday to tune in to the reading of a similar
list.....one which includes the names Koppel, Cronkite,
Brown, Couric, Jennings, Rather, Brokaw, Imus, Lauer, et al.

To: dighton
"If the question is, was this intended as an anti-war effort, the answer is a categorical, No. It is neither in support of the war or against the war," he insisted.
The usual Clintonesque newspeak of libs....It wasnt 'ntended' but if it has anti war consequences that wont hurt Koppulators feelings any...of course the real 'intention' of the reading is to propagandize the people to change their minds on supporting Pres Bush on election day....

"Iraq had no WMD. Iraq had no Al Queda connection."

Who did you say was in denial? Why don't you take your bullsh!t and pimp it to your twins at DU. Iraq had no WMD and no Al Queda connection? What tripe.

To: Burkeman1
If you read both FR and DU (instead of just DU as is your apparent preference) you'll see that FR not only posts the information about our soldiers and sailors dying each day but they also list names and personal details about their lives. Folks here obviously care about each life that is lost over there.

The leftists at DU seem to care only about the ever increasing number of deaths as if it were a score at a soccer match.... the higher the number and the worst it is perceived by the public they better chance they have of winning politically. It's disgusting.

I don't question Ted Koppel's patriotism, because there's no question he's a liberal with an anti-war axe to grind. What bothers me about this particular show is, this show comes at the start of sweeps month.
One loses journalistic neutrality and integrity when they start preaching to the viewers by injecting their own opinions and points of view before, during and after each story they cover.

He lost his integrity back in 1980, when Nightline first started.

I used to rubberneck DU once in a while, the mental illness evident over there is amazing. I can't do that anymore because I keep seeing DU'ers using our troops' coffin pictures as signature lines.

One day I'm going to punch a hole right through my monitor :-(

edit to add there were several mentions of Koppell's visit today to "the official Democratic radio show" the O'Franken Factor. They didn't seem to think that going on Hannity also the same day showed equality of trying to get his (Koppell's) message out to both sides.

Bush and Cheney are liars and that fellow is in serious denial.

the truth on this. One of the few dribbles from Bush's mouth they chose to 'overlook'

2. To them... Tonight's Nightline=The Tell Tale Heart!
The Tell Tale Heart
A metaphor for their own concious... their own guilt! Of course they hate it! They cheered-on, and endorsed their own... "destiny."

if two separate groups of Americans can watch a show like that and have completely diametrically opposing views with NO middle ground of agreement in between...I'm just not liking the future we're all headed to...

10. oooh, why play with that sludge?

I've got $$$ for the first Freeper who admits that refusing to talk about some subject in public is a partisan political act, too. I believe they thought so concerning Bill Clinton and one Monica Lewinsky, but I suspect the rule suddenly changed when Shrub suddenly couldn't remember flying on Kenny Lay's Learjet for most of his campaign.

But hey, let's be kind and not be hypocrites.... we'll have a bad night here full of their sort of whining about this sort of speech when Nightline does a special showing pictures of and naming every single WMD launcher and payload found in Iraq.

Oh, wait.... :D
