5. GOP dirty tricks goon squads
...will make certain the whole thing turns violent and ugly. They're hoping seeing police haul scruffy college kids off to the can in front of smashed Starbuck's windows will convinvce the folks in Peooria that if they don't want their neighborhoods trashed, they'd better vore for Chimp. The news,of course, will conveninently forget to tell you who started the riots.

The riots at the 1968 Democratic convention were largely responsible for 8 years of GOP rule. The news conveniently forgot to tell middle America that they were instigated by conservative thugs and abetted by Chicago's finest. And we know the news today is more biased than it was then.

I read an organizing site that stressed nonvoilent crowd control training. I would advise anyone planning to demonstrate to get this training.

7. Trying to envision the "skull session" that came up with this.
Like a Mad Magazine Don Martin "Scenes We'd Like to See."

(Lots of crushed beer cans and Dorito bags littering the "situation room")

Shrub: Karl, are you sure about this? I mean, NYC IS a bastion of liberalism and the Democratic Party, after all. It's "Charlie's Point".

Karl: You worry too much, mein shrub. It'll be a thing of beauty. By the summer, with the Iraqis eating out of our hand, and Chalabi in place as "our man in Baghdad", people will be scared to say boo about the appropriateness of this choice.

(A plan for shrub to receive the coronation... er, nomination directly at ground zero while dressed in a FDNY uniform and fireman's hat, with "Proud to Be An American" played by the orchestra, is discussed.)

6. if they don't now, they will
heh heh heh...

We have a lot of refugees in this city. I'm guessing that hearing about US sponsored torture, er, excuse me, abuse...wait, I meant inhospitality, or is it mild disdain...sorry, what was I saying...ah yes, these folks will not take too kindly to this shit in their back yard.

8. "On the advice of Tom Ridge at Homeland Security...
the convention has to be moved because of 'chatter'....new convention venue will be Biloxi, Mississippi....news at 11."

Would anyone be surprised?

Locked in baby, gatta go through with it. Caught in the Convention Vise...Unable to extricate and move lovation w/o appearing WIMP.

Bush will NOT Move the Convention. The Fundies put him in charge and, given these past days headlines, many are regretting that bet, choice, investment, support. Bush has become a "YIKES"
