"I was sorry for" versus "I AM sorry for"
Doesn't sound like an apology to me...

Sounds similar to "I feel sorry for the victims" instead of "I apologize to the victims..."

The Chimp can't even apologize correctly.

1. There are certain things he can not say
His mind just won't get around it. "I'm sorry." "Shame on me." He can't get these words out of his mouth because he has been raised to believe there is NOTHING for which he should ever be sorry, there is NOTHING for which he should ever be ashamed. He is the new Roman emperor, chosen by the Almighty, ordained to rule, annointed by the birthright he inherited. He can't say it, because in his own mind it would be wrong for the new messiah to apologize.

The man is psychotic, he has to go.

2. He is truly sick
and the media calling this an apology is shameful.

Was the King of Jordan in that prison? Because Bush says he "was sorry" for the abuse to him...

NOT AN APOLOGY.

CNN may be creaming themselves over it but it won't fly in the Arab world.

3. He didn't apologize
Edited on Thu May-06-04 01:58 PM by MsUnderstood
He said he apologized which is a world of difference.

He has never looked the Public straight in the eye and said "I am sorry this happened under my watch."

He said in a private conversation "I am sorry that they were abused" then told people he said he was sorry. . .that is sad a pathetic.

P.S. If he isn't going to apologize to AMERCIANS for what happened on 9/11, what in the world makes anyone think he will apologize to IRAQS for what happened to them because of 9/11 (or bush's spin on 9/11)?

4. Yes, he is unable to apologize.
That is just not in him. Almost like saying, "I'm sorry you are upset," as opposed to, "I am sorry I upset you."

5. YOU ARE DAMNED RIGHT
I just heard it and it was my immediate impression,

that he was sorry for something that happened, but worded in a way that shows he is accepting no guilt for the action itself......

there's some Moral Clarity.

6. "I am sorry you took that prisoner abuse the wrong way; it was intended to
be democratic humane torture, not dictator-style, rape room, gassing your own people torture."

7. He's a frikkin Head Of State...
...(illegit maybe, but he's the one in the Big Chair right now.)

An apology from a head of state is where he gets up and says "I offer/extend/give my sincerest/whatever apologies to yadddayaddawhoever for blablawhatever".

"I'm sorry" isn't taking responsibility, and as CIC, he's in charge so he's responsible.

8. I can't wait for...
the next line of crap that BushCorp gives as the reason to invade Iraq. First it was WMD’s…which was proven as a false threat. Then it was connections to the 9-11 tragedy…which has never been proven. Then it was to stop the rape and torture of Iraqi citizens…which hasn’t stopped, it only switched proprietors. The next reason will be that Iraq had built a giant orbital space magnifying glass that when positioned under the sun, could direct a focused beam of light (or a L.A.S.E.R.) that had Washington DC, Disneyland, and the Statue of Liberty in its sights. How the hell did Rainman get to be president?
