Who has the most influence on Arnold? Maria or Karl ?
Arnold is mostly a Repub in name only. One gets the suspicion he is more apolitical than anything. He likes to make money. He likes his ego massaged. And ergo, he likes women. So when it comes time for him to make some important political decisions, will he listen to his wife, Maria, (the daughter of a Kennedy) or will he listen to Karl Rove? There must be just a little concern in the Repub clan.

1. Arnold is about Arnold.
Maybe Maria is just a good Catholic wife.

4. If Arnold is a true Republican,
he regards women a subspecies to be protected but not intelligent enough to be consulted for decisions. In Maria's case this is probably true. I am not being bitchy. She is dumb as a post.

2. LET'S SEE....
He obviously doesn't listen to his wife on "lifestyle issues" like fidelity if the years of unrefuted gossip reports out of Hollywood are any gage---or the UK reports of his "groping" TV show hosts there.

So, we are supposed to believe that she has great influence on him about politics? How about his stumping and donating to Bush I and Bush*II campaigns? If she was such a "Democrat" there is your proof that she doesn't seem to have much influence. Chances are that she doesn't much care herself about party but only about the personal connections to those family members---Dem and Republican--who are running.

BTW, the Bushes have mastered the art of the "liberal" or "Democratic" wife since Bush I with Babs being "pro choice" and all us liberals sit and wait for that vaunted "influence" to kick in.
I didn't buy it then, or with Laura's supposed Democratic Party past and sure don't with this self-absorbed duo.

Your mileage, however, may vary.

7. WTF is Rove thinking???
Pushing a social liberal on the Rightwing in CA is sure to infuriate the RW throughout the countrt.

Simon is going to get a lot of support for the RWers to run an agressive campaign against the Arnold Insurgency.

Bush is going to look politically inept to the right wing if he comes out here and campaigns for Arnold.

11. It's been said by one wiser than myself....
that what's really behind this is that Rove wants Arnold to veto an upcoming Democratic redistricting plan. Repubs would lose seats if they redrew the district boundaries.

Sorry, that's all I know about it.
