"America's not what's wrong with the world" (hehehe)
Rummy's rant was his weakest moment...a feable tirade, he fell apart in an effort (my opinion) to prevent having to answer the congressman's well-taken questions.

Then he went on to say that people are lined up to come to the U.S. Everybody wants to go to the U.S. blahblahblah. What a myth! Tourists don't even want to go there! Tourism to the US is down a third of what it was last year.

Immigration is happening all over the world. The Moroccans are moving to France, the Italians are moving to Switzerland, the Turks are moving to Germany, the Slovenians are moving to Italy.... Rummy can spare us his sanctimonious diatribe on American "greatness." The US does not corner the market on immigration, and it's position as a world leader has plummeted after Rummy's pitiful performance today.

The Germans must feel rather relieved. They no longer carry the burden of atrocity on their shoulders.

1. the Germans never carried the burden of atrocity
they got over it pretty quickly, and thank God, because we all know what happens when Germans feel like they've been shorted in a surrender deal. They put in a big order for ovens.

That being said though, you are right.
