I am kind of surprised...
That military people haven't come out and spoken about the torture in Iraq as simply part of what they were trained to do.

I was in the Australian military, and interrogation training involved being stripped naked and humiliated, mild beatings, and all sorts of psychological torture. Now I don't know for sure that this is how Americans are trained, but seeings how Australia is so close with the US and has been for years, it would be surprised if it was much different.

I guess there is the possibility that people don't want to discredit the military further, and I can understand that. There is also the possibility that this does not form part of the training for US interrogators. If that is the case, I am way off and it would certainly explain why nobody has "come out" yet.

1. guardian has article about this..yes they are trained
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1212197,00.html

"The techniques devised in the system, called R2I - resistance to interrogation - match the crude exploitation and abuse of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib jail in Baghdad.

One former British special forces officer who returned last week from Iraq, said: "It was clear from discussions with US private contractors in Iraq that the prison guards were using R2I techniques, but they didn't know what they were doing."

"He said British and US military intelligence soldiers were trained in these techniques, which were taught at the joint services interrogation centre in Ashford, Kent, now transferred to the former US base at Chicksands"

"The feeling among US soldiers I've spoken to in the last week is also that 'the gloves are off'. Many of them still think they are dealing with people responsible for 9/11".

Last point is how the rot from the top (bushco and leadership) constantly falsely claiming Iraqi is somehow responsible for 911.
