Why do we get so many "Help me with this Freeper response" posts?
Why do people get in discussions with these morons if they are not ready to argue their positions? I know many of these posts are by freepers that think they are pulling a quick one by putting their silly argument, which they think is invincible and strong, in the context that a "real" freeper actually was asking the question of them. But we continue to play the game. I realize that some of these type questions may be legit but most are transparent.

1. so they can post the links
and get you to look at the other side. A stealth manuever IMHO. The best thing is not to take the bait.

8. I hardly ever take the bait.
I've dealt enough with those people to realize they're beyond reason. Also, your point about a stealth manuever is interesting. I hadn't thought about that one. Bottom line is that I don't have a lot of time to read about what's going on in the world. I sure don't want to waste my time looking at freeper threads.

10. Quite true and I should clarify
By clicking the link they provide and since most websites are not secure, the more sophisticated hacks can snatch your IP address and make attacks on your computer. I've fallen for this trick myself too many times like a dumbass just out of morbid curiosity.

It's why I kinda like the rule that you're not allowed to post about the ripoff site. I think it should be extended to FR.

Then we might not be seeing so many posts in the lounge asking for computer help. But I could be wrong.

11. That sounds like a real possibility.
I'm definitely not very computer savvy, but my husband has warned me about cookies (is that what you mean?). Thanks for the info! Now I will NEVER go to those links.

13. Yeah that's part of it
I'm not that computer savvy myself but am learning more and more everyday trying to keep the computer working properly. Most of the times I have trouble with my computer is after a debate with a freeper here after clicking a link that the thread starter had provided. It's a good idea to clean out the cache often.

2. I think it's a good practice.
There's a lot of disinformation going around, and it might not take one or two debunkings to sway someone, but after a bunch I think there's a significant chipping away. Plus, is there ever a right-wing rumor we don't tear to shreds in a very short period of time? They have very much the opposite of their intended effect when they have a bunch of good repies to them.

The more dangerous disruptor posts, I think, is where someone takes some really weird extreme position that doesn't make sense but that will probably attract a lot of people looking to show off how lefty they are and they go along with it.

7. I think you're right about this,
"The more dangerous disruptor posts, I think, is where someone takes some really weird extreme position that doesn't make sense but that will probably attract a lot of people looking to show off how lefty they are and they go along with it."

even though I've been accused myself of being COINTELPRO for holding what were held to be "really weird extreme positions."

Telling the genuine from the disingenuous is sometimes hard, but they seem to hang themselves eventually.

3. Because we want to elect John Kerry
Information gathering is one of the most useful aspects of DU. That and finding out about Democrats sex lives in the lounge.

4. I have a FreepTard response. Built in. Or, should I say, on.
My two middle fingers. Having two means I always have a backup and that is just Best Practices, to maintain a backup.

Remember: never match wits with Half-Wits.

5. the strange things about their talking points. . .
Is that often there is a granule of truth at the root of their argument. . .eg. "Sen. John McCain has a dark skinned child". . .therefore he fathered an illegitimate black child. When in truth he and his wife adopted a Bangledeshi child.

Now, in the face of heinous abuse of human rights, they cite 9/11 and the mutilations in Fallujah. Like that excuses our abuses.

Hersh's article is said to have cited that 60% of those detainees at Abu Graib were innocent civilians.

We'll be paying for this for genreations to come.

6. I Never Bother
Most of the questions are legitimate I think, but most Freepers are closed-minded bigots and an intellegent discourse with them is like arguing with a "box of rocks."

I simply hammer home how many benefits and freedoms are disappearing and the hefty increase of taxes and burdens on the local level.

12. Ignore All Postings With "Freeper" in it

I just ignore them, why would you even want to argue with a freeper ?

They are insane, just ignore them, you are wasting your time.

Logic and facts are meaningless to them, they are brainwashed robotic
right-wing idiots.

I wish skinner would ban all freeper postings in GD. I think it's insane and a
total waste of time to even discuss anything about them.
