Kucinich v. Blitzer
I watched Dennis K. endure the thousand yard stares of Wolf Blitzer today, and was quite impressed. DK did something I've never seen a Democrat do. When Blitzer thundered "Are you actually accusing Bush and Cheney of fraud and corruption with Enron in California?????" DK actually said "YES." "YES!"

I've never seen a Dem answer one of those "Are you accusing....." questions in the affirmative. They usually weasel out of making the accusation.

DK went on to say that absolutely, Bush and Cheney assisted in Enron's pillaging of California. He said that Gray Davis is "paying for Bush's sins"!!

The rest of his comments were on the money, too, except at the end where he misspoke slightly. He said Bush didn't go to war in Iraq for regime change, he went to get rid of nuclear weapons. That was after he pointed out the lies that took us to war, and in context his misstatement doesn't mean anything.

I'll get the transcript tomorrow and post it.

2. Awesome
Finally someone answering "yes" to those "are you accusing one plus one of being two?" questions. Good on him. I can't wait to read it.

6. But Wolfie
resorted to Tweety tactics by interrupting him and not letting him get his point in. Dennis made a lot of graceful saves though and derailed Wolfie's tactics.

I didn't see either this interview or Hardball back when it aired, but you've let me know my faith in him is well placed.

9. Dennis actually used the "L" word!
He said the word "LIE"

He was AWESOME. I'm a Dean guy, but Kucinich was extremely impressive. Very inspiring.

13. I too think that Dean is the man to save us from the cabal.
But I'm a closet Kucinich fan. I don't believe that he can take it from Bush this time, but he's one to keep an eye on.

10. Uh-oh - beware the "he misspoke slightly."
You run the risk of people pouncing on you pointing out what a dirty lying scum Kucinich is. They certainly do that with Dean.

I, for one, am DELIGHTED to hear this, and I'm a Dean supporter. About time somebody laid the blame where it's deserved regarding California's energy crisis. Kucinich is CORRECT. It absolutely was Enron with Bush and Cheney in collusion. What's most distressing is that the Dems here in California completely ignored this point and failed to yell it from the rooftops from the moment the recall effort began. Everybody who counted was asleep at the switch out here. Shit.

Excellent post. And by the way, I do NOT think Kucinich is "a liar" because he misspoke a little. EVERYBODY does that from time to time. For heaven's sakes! You'd think he was lying about getting us into a war and having our kids needlessly killed or some such thing, for heaven's sakes!

15. well to be fair to all parties...
When Dean "misspoke" he had a good 30 minutes to gear up his answer and was just waiting (and rightfully so) to pounce back at Dennis. It was a flat denial not an accidental twist of words.

What Dean should have said was that he had supported that many years ago and has evolved, just like Dennis has on issues like abortion.

11. DK Blew Wolfie Away, Especially the Trap
The trap being, "but you would agree that Saddam being gone is worth it? You wouldn't put Saddam back, would you?"

Every yakking whore pops this one on every Dem. DK said that the end doesn't justify the means. Then Wolf tried to back him into, but it was worth it to get rid of Saddam, WASN'T IT???? DK said, "It wasn't worth 255 American lives." Yippie-kai-yay.

23. No matter who you support, it's part of the yarn we need to make
a great big scarf to tie around Bush's mouth and drag him out of the White House. Every piece of info out is good info. AND, by the way: for God's sake I'm so sick of these whores watching the rape of CA by Enron, the outted corrupt documents of the raping of CA by Enron, corrupt Enron in general, AND despite Cheney' refusal to turn over the documents, the dirty secret EVERYBODY knows that Enron cooked up all the energy shit with Bush/Cheney and yet, these so-called ace reporters and journalists (and a bunch of politicians, too) feign that they just cannot connect the dots. I thought you had to be able to connect the dots in order to pass kindergarten........
