Bush Approval Rating Continues to Plummet
Pollsters: Kerry aside,
BUSH IS IN TROUBLE

Approval rating keeps falling
“He is in dangerous territory now,” pollster John Zogby says of President Bush.

MSNBC staff and news service reports
Updated: 4:23 p.m. ET May 12, 2004WASHINGTON - Voters may not yet be ready to flock to challenger John Kerry, but President Bush’s continuing decline in opinion surveys — including one released Wednesday — is a clear warning sign for an incumbent trying to persuade the public to rehire him for four more years, pollsters say.

A new Pew Research Center poll Wednesday showed Bush’s approval rating at 44 percent, down from 48 percent a month ago and 58 percent in January. While the poll gives Kerry a 50-45 lead over Bush in a two-way race with a 2.5-point margin of error, his lead narrows to 46-43 when Ralph Nader is included.

note to MSNBC: you can't "rehire" a man you never hired in the first place.

3. Paula Zahn said to Joe Klein tonight.
That we are all very skeptical of polls by now, Aren't we? Which Joe agreed wholeheartedly. Yet when the boy king had a high approval rating Paula would fawn all over her Bush saying stuff like "an extremely popular president".

The fucking news and the assholes spewing it make me sick and a shamed to be called an American, because these people are as anti-american as you get. They are fascists, pure and simple fascists.

4. I'm convinced that Zahn, et al have performance based contracts.
Their salary/bonus plan is tied to how well Bush polls. I've noted thinly masked unhappiness in the newsreaders lately.

8. I'll never forget Cokie Roberts soliciting applause
On Letterman shortly after 9/11, she solicited applause from the audience for Bush's approval rating. She said something like "and the President's approval rating is 75%. How do you like that? Huh?" - looking at the audience, waving her hands, trying to get them to applaud. Sickening. Can't listen to her now.

5. We're We Bitching Last Week The Other Way?
Who was it...CNN or UselessToday that had Bunnypants with a 3 or 4 point lead and people were saying how Kerry hadn't taken advantage. This despite most polls being conducted over the weekend and several days behind on major news events when they're released.

Last week Dubya got clobbered on the Abu Gabril stuff and somehow his lead turned into a Kerry lead with little fanfare, and then the "pundits" wondering why he isn't further ahead. Sheesh! Kerry's doing the right thing right now, letting this regime keep hanging itself.

This morning, CNN threw out a report from Lehigh, Pa that said "while support for the war has dropped 10 percent in the last month, support for the pResident remains stead". Whatever that means.

Polls are fun now for people like Tweety and Wolfie and Hanity to play with, but the ones that matter right now are held in the highest confidences in the various campaigns. I'd start paying more attention around convention time.

Cheers!
