Rats jumping from the ship
Tucker, Friedman, Will - they've all finally said they were wrong.

Army Times is calling for Rumsfeld's resignation.

Generals are criticizing the war effort.

Hastert and other Senate Republicans are angry at Bush.

And now an interesting quote from the NY Times:

Concerns are mounting among C.I.A. officers about the potential consequences of their actions. "Some people involved in this {torture of AQ suspects in Gitmo and elsewhere} have been concerned for quite a while that eventually there would be a new president, or the mood in the country would change, and they would be held accountable," one intelligence source said. "Now that's happening faster than anybody expected."

Remember that when you stand up to a bully, they crumble. This could be what's happening now.

Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush, Ashcroft and Tenet need to resign NOW for the good of the country.

If not, THEY'RE the ones who will be blamed blamed the next time the terrorists hit.

It'll no longer be "They hate us for our freedoms."

It'll be "They hate us because we're sadistic torturers."

Strip them of all their assets AND their citizenship and set them free...loose, naked and broke, on the streets of any major Arab city! An eye for an eye, after all!

2. One thing you aren't factoring in...

These people are WHORES. They blow with the wind. These same assholes could flip flop and start sucking off Shrub again and no one would notice.

3. The Army has not been with Bush
for a long time, just that if you have no contact with them you would have no idea

There were signs of this a while ago. Remember the number of ... leaked plans on the way to war? If you do not, think back to the Summer before the shooting started... also think of all the officers canned by Rummy et al... chief among them Chief of Staff Erik Chinseki...

It is just that those in uniform do not speak out, except at the Poll. This is why the fact that they are going public right now is
ESTRAORDINARY.

4. Bush, "They hate us for our freedoms."
wow, I'm relieved. For a minute, I thought they hated us for the creative ways our interrogators use light sticks . . .

5. Kristol is wobbling
At least on Bush's ability to carry out his beloved war.

Liberal interventionist Michael Ignatief is shaken and David Gergen left the building some time ago.

Failure is an orphan.

7. It's so easy isn't it.
Media whore: Oh well, our war didn't work. I guess I'll have to tell everyone I was wrong and switch sides. Hmm, need a good excuse. Ah yes! The war was a good idea, but the President is handling it badly. Therefore, I'm against the war now.

Readers: Well anyone can make a mistake.

Media whore: Gee, that was easy!

8. using Iraq and Terra-war for campaign centerpiece
is becoming bush*s undoing

It's becoming clearer to the "person-on-the-street" that there is no course to stay, no plan to follow - just excuses rattling around in an empty and leaky babble bucket

A year after the invasion, and with June 30th approximately 6 weeks away - it doesn't look like any "transfer of power" or Troop withdrawl is going to happen in any meaningful way

When asked about Iraq or the war on terror - bush* keeps pulling the same tired and bedraggled rabbit-excuse out of his hat "..They hate our freedoms..."

sorry, this may be a good splash line for posters, but as the "official" reason to start wars it falls very short of the mark

NO 9-11 connection, NO Saddam-Bin-laden connection, NO WMDs -- people are asking "...so why are we in Iraq anyways?..."

9. They hate our pervsions
That old "They hate our freedoms" line is going to be as dead as "Bring 'em on" and "Mission accomplished" very soon.

Next time terrorists hit, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson won't have to blame the perverted homos for bringing it on.

They can just blame the perverts running the New American Gulag.
