The website that posted the butchering of Nick Berg has been shut down
Just heard on FOX-TV. The ISP was located in Malaysia and reportedly, they have said they do not give out the names of who has registered the sites?? Gets deeper and deeper, doesn't it?

4. They can't stop it.
It's mirrored on hundreds of sites, likely... including thememoryhole.com, I believe.

It's in the public domain now. Why would someone want to keep this butchery low key?

7. Kentuck, go read this thread.
Posts 4 & 5 have interesting information gathered by Roy G Biv about the website owner.

The part about his being somehow related to Chechen rebels reminded me that some people were saying Russians were involved, or Russians were saying Chechens were involved.

Anyway, it's interesting.

9. Blast kills ex-Chechen president in Qatar.
However, you said a few days ago. Has there been another assassination?

This is from Feb. 13th, but the link is still active.

Chechnya's exiled former president, wanted by Russia for terrorism and ties to al-Qaida, was assassinated Friday when a bomb blew apart his car as he left a mosque with his teenage son. (The mosque was in Doha.)

Russia's security services denied any involvement in the death of Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, 51. But a Chechen rebel group called the slaying "the latest bloody Kremlin crime."...

The blast occurred one week after a bombing in a Moscow subway killed 41 people and wounded more than 100. President Vladimir Putin blamed Chechen rebels and took a hard line, saying, "Russia doesn't conduct negotiations with terrorists it destroys them."

An aide to Yandarbiyev, Ibrahim Gabi, blamed the Kremlin and Russia's Federal Security Service, the FSB, for Yandarbiyev's killing, a pro-rebel Web site reported...

"There is not the slightest doubt that this despicable terrorist act ... is the work of the Russian special services," he said on the site, adding they are "settling accounts with the firmest supporters of Chechen independence."

...Yandarbiyev, acting president of Chechnya in 1996-97, had been linked to the al-Qaida terror group. Russia had been seeking his extradition from Qatar, where he lived since summer 2000, accusing him of ties to kidnappers and terrorists...

Last year, Putin accused the United States of holding clandestine talks with Yandarbiyev. He offered no evidence...

11. Sweden: Kadyrov's assassination not terrorism.
Edited on Fri May-14-04 01:21 AM by NYC
http://www.gateway2russia.com/st/art_234864.php

Hot off the press, dated May 13th.

Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds has commented on Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov’s assassination on May 9 by saying that Stockholm denounces violence but does not consider the organizers of the Grozny Victory Day blast terrorists, RIA Novosti reports. Five other people were killed in the Sunday blast and thirteen were injured, including children.

Moscow reacted to Freivalds’ statement by saying that real partnership and double standards don’t mix. Stockholm does not question the necessity of a firm rebuff to the threat of terrorism when the U.S. or the E.U. are concerned...

The Foreign Ministry went on to say that the approach shown by Sweden does not serve to strengthen the trust between Russia and Sweden.

Edit: Typo.
