The Bush Doctrine: Ignorance By Design.
Look at the list of I don't knows, don't read, don't recall coming out of this administration. How many times has one federal Department said you gotta ask the Other Department for clarification? How many times has a military commander on the ground in Iraq been contradicted by another guy on the ground, the CPA or the Pentagon?
How many "I misspoke" recants have been offered as an answer?

None of this is accidental or inconsequential.

It IS the systemic problem.

(thanks for the rant space DU)

1. We need to stop calling it Plausible Deniability...
I liked your phrase better: "Ignorance By Design"

5. And that is so. He is the perfect foil. His handlers know that there will
be no accountability.

No responsibility.

As far as consequences, well they may have over reached.

He's a good glad hander. That is his primary skill. That and he can raise millions for this sham.

That Crawford "ranch" will seem awfully lonely for this guy one day soon.

It's a Shakespearean tragedy.

3. Watergate
We used to ask about Nixon's knowledge by saying,"What did the President not know and when did he not know it?"
