Poll question: Energy Independence, Health Care Overhaul, or 2 Liberal Justices?
While Kerry has several major initiatives planned for his first four years (wink wink), the ones that keep getting me the most excited are his plans for: 1. clean, domestic renewables, 2. near-universal health care, and 3. appointing Supreme Court Justices. I can't tell which one has me seeing more stars, so I was hoping you guys might help me out.

Could Kerry's presidency mark the beginning of the 21st Century (or, as Time magazine dubbed it, the "Green Century")?

3. Energy
Transforming the energy economy from centralized monopolies to a clean distributed system would upend the economic order of the world for the better. Transforming access to energy from a scarcity model to one of abundance would empower the smaller players and, over time, destroy most of the control points that corporations have over the citizens and the government. Energy policy touches everything.

4. Supreme court appointments don't always turn out how you think.
As the conservatives have learned. But beginning in earnest the search for replacements to fossil fuels is not just important for our country but for our species.

5. I'm a single issue voter...
The Supreme Court!

The only way repukes can win anything is to appeal to the SCOTUS. With a liberal majority, they can kiss their fascist schemes good bye!

7. Healthcare & a more liberal SCOTUS would be nice...
...but ending our dependence on foreign oil would practically guarantee American economic supremacy for the next two centuries.

No wars. No polluting emissions. No prostrating ourselves before foreign powers to get more of it.

And while the other nations of the world scrounge for the last little bits of oil to keep their economies running at US$12-15 a gallon, we'll be humming along in our water/solar/natural gas/electric cars and trucks.

Look up "paradigm shift" in the dictionary, and you'll find "renewable energy" right next to it.
