John Walker Lindh
Now that the media is actually reporting US abuses, and main stream American's are actually considering that their leaders might be less than God-like, will this finally be looked at objectively?

The details of described here are revolting, but "the American Taliban", convicted by Ashcroft and the media, is locked away, his story with him.

"The next day, the prisoners were led out of the basement and into the yard. Their arms were bound behind their backs, and they were made to sit in rows. Dostum’s guards walked among them, randomly hitting and kicking prisoners. Lindh was struck in the back of the head and almost lost consciousness. CIA agent Johnny “Mike” Spann and another agent, working with Dostum’s men, singled out Lindh and questioned him at gunpoint. The episode was captured on videotape and records the Americans saying to Lindh, “The problem is, he needs to decide if he wants to live or die, and die here ... we’re just going to leave him, and he’s going to f—-ing sit in prison the rest of his f—-ing short life. It’s his decision, man. We can only help the guys who want to talk to us.” Lindh remained mute throughout the questioning."

1. This US citiizen has been
condemned to a living death without due legal process. Thanks for posting this. I have often wondered what became of Lindh. I remember well the picture of him stripped and strapped. Justice for all, not.

3. We don't know. He never had a fair trial
as guaranteed by our constitution. He was prejudiced by the Attorney General of the United States.

And if half of what is written in this article is true, he has been to the depth of hell.

4. He went to Afghanistan before 9/11
I have always been curious about the fact that he went to Afghansitan BEFORE they were our enemies, back when Texas oil companies were courting the Taliban because they wanted a pipeline in Afghanistan.
Once everthing happened, I wonder how easy it would have been to just leave. I don't know...
