America 2004 = Germany 1939
"You offer no proof that he did something wrong, you refuse him a lawyer and then you kill him. Why?"

Like Randi Rhodes stated, American will pay dearly for this carnage.

'I will always hate you people'

I posted this before (We are Germans):

9. Oh my God..........
If Bush is elected this time we will go the way of 1930's Germany

my husband said this 1/2 year ago and I was mad with him, said this is totally different and we had hot discussions very long nights!!

The hing is, we are here since 8 years, got our Green Card last year and wanted to apply for citizenship the next possible moment(5 years later)
Right now, I'm not interested to apply, I'm in a waiting position. Told my husband, we are leaving if Bush is reelected!

BTW we are financially independent, don't take from our "Guest-Country" but gave a lot. In the last 4 years 40 Mill.$ Taxes.
We just love this land and its people. We feel totally surrounded by very nice, polite and friendly Americans.
It would be hard for me, to go back to Europe, where everything (people and weather is so cold...........)

8. Welcome to America, and welcome to DU.
They're just a few madmen, that's all. We don'tas a general rule put them in charge. Hopefully that will change quite soon. You're wise to keep your options open though! :hi:

14. Thanks, Elf!
We are not the administration. We just have an administration around to handle the paperwork. This batch has gone rogue on us. We'll heal. Tell your friends not to give up on us yet!

as this has never been a book to go to americans:

Book Description
Now updated with a new introduction and bibliography Ian Kershaw's classic study of popular responses to Nazi policy and ideology explores the political mentality of 'ordinary Germans' in one part of Hitler's Reich. Basing his account on many unpublished sources, the author analyses socio-economic discontent and the popular reaction to the anti-Church and anti-Jewish policies of the Nazis, and reveals the bitter divisions and dissent of everyday reality in the Third Reich, in stark
contrast to the propaganda image of a 'National Community' united behind its leaders. The focus on one particular region makes possible a depth of analysis that takes full account of local and social variations, and avoids easy generalization; but the findings of this study of ordinary behaviour in a police state have implications extending far beyond the confines of Bavaria or indeed Germany in this period.
Synopsis
Updated with a new introduction and bibliography, Ian Kershaw's classic study of popular responses to Nazi policy and ideology explores the political mentality of "ordinary Germans" in one part of Hitler's Reich. Basing his account on many unpublished sources, the author analyzes socio-economic discontent and the popular reaction to the anti-Church and anti-Jewish policies of the Nazis, and reveals the bitter divisions and dissent of everyday reality in the Third Reich, in stark contrast to the propaganda image of a "National Community" united behind its leaders. The focus on one particular region makes possible a depth of analysis that takes full account of local and social variations, and avoids easy generalization; but the findings of this study of ordinary behaviour in a police state have implications extending far beyond the confines of Bavaria or indeed Germany in this period. This book is intended for general readers interested in History of the Second World War, Military history, history of Germany in Word War II and the interwar period, and the biography of Hitler. Students interested in the disciplines of the social history of Nazi Germany, life of Hitler and his vision for Germany.

But how? There must be international war crimes prosecution, otherwise her alternative is terrorism.

5. Well see in six months
Once Hitler took power, there were no more elections for Chancellor. The opposition parties were banned, and their leaders thrown into concentration camps.

I'll be watching to see if the election for president takes place in November. Also I'll be watching where Senator Clinton, Daschle and Kennedy turn up in December.

That will tell me if this comparison holds any water, or if it's just a bunch of nonsense.

7. you're defending Bush?
Bush doesn't have to cancel elections to manipulate them, remember 2000? And he doesn't need to throw Hillary, Kerry or Kennedy in a concentration camp either. The media will take care of them, by ignoring or labeling them as unpatriotic wackos.

If people think the current American government, like Hitler's, is not planning world domination (PNAC), they're part of the problem.

21. I'm saying Bush is not Hitler
That's a ridiculous comparison.

Does that mean I'm defending Bush?

If I say a burgler is not as bad as Jeffrey Dahlmer, does that mean I'm defending burglers?

26. sure, Hitler killed millions more but give Bush time.
Hitler had little regard for civilian casualties the same way Bush does. Hitler fabricated reasons to invade Poland the same way Bush did in Iraq. Hitler had plans for world domination the same way Bush does (PNAC).

Bush is not only a burglar. He's a murderer.

6. If US today is Germany circa 1939...is Europ appeasing again?
maybe our country is the one the Europeans need to clamp down on. I am so sick of this kind of climate. I have already made plans to emigrate if Bush wins again. Really. New Zealand, Canada, or Holland. No sh!t.

9. It's a long time coming...
for years we have basically installed governments in various parts of the world that one could relate to the Anschluss.

And Iraq right now could be equated with Czechoslovakia, in that it was bare aggression on our part.

Bush, as presidents do, controls the army. Politicians and huge armies just don't seem to mix.

Our last real semblance of Democracy is that the people generally have to approve of the actions taken regarding our Armed Forces. I can't see that lasting too long.
