I sent them this e-mail today:
Fox likes to talk about the New York Times and others as being bias with headlines, but fox is being hypocritical itself. Last week fox "pumped up" the sarin gas story to Unreal heights while every other network dropped it after a day, especially since it was all about nothing. I call that outrageous. Once again fox likes to claim its coverage is fair and balanced, I just wonder who they are talking about. thank you
Fox Response:
Why do you say the sarin story was "all about nothing"? I thought that it was dramatically, perhaps intentionally, underplayed by the news media. You seem to assume they're right, which is quite an assumption. Sarin, a few drops of which can kill many people, was discovered largely unmixed in that shell. The government estimates 3-4 liters of it, which is about a gallon. The fact that this shell was floating around in the hands of people looking to harm us is quite a story. Combined with the planned chemical attack in Jordan last month and the mustard gas shell discovered in Iraq earlier this month, there are serious questions. Even assuming that the shell was manufactured awhile ago, which seems to be a common theory, filling just one with sarin seems unlikely. An earlier 550 sarin filled shells were declared missing by the UN in years back. Is this one of them? How many gallons of this incredibly toxic substance may be floating around Iraq? Interesting questions, I think. Frankly, I was appalled by the lack of coverage our competitors gave this and think it's an excellent example of our motto.
