Supreme W. Court?
Supreme W. Court?

SCOTUS will rule on several cases this month, which will signal either thumbs up or thumbs down to some of Caesar's George W. Bush's controversial policies.

The most notable cases to be decided in June answer the following questions:

Should the US be able to hold foreigners in the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, outside the reach of US courts?

Should the pResident and his military commanders have the power to arrest and hold indefinitely Americans as "enemy combatants?"

1. 5-4 just like Bush-Gore
Laying down the "legal" basis for the hammer to come down.

2. Some very key SCOTUS decisions pending
Technically news should not affect a Supreme Court decision but in the case of the detainees in Cuba. Ted Olsen told the court that no abuse or torture had been used against these detainees and news reports shows that this was false.

4. I've had a feeling lately that Sandra Day O'Connor...
has been thinking about her legacy on the court.

I can't cite any decisions offhand, but I seem to remember she sided with the 4 righteous supremes on something important recently.

Does anyone remember the case?
