From my home town...Colorado Springs....
http://www.kktv.com/home/headlines/808977.html

War protesters and supporters of President Bush rallied at opposite ends of the Academy as his motorcade passed by.

Between 200 and 300 anti-war demonstrators showed up at the South Gate of the Academy. They far outnumbered the people at the Pro-Bush Rally. But both sides wanted their message heard.

...more..

Remember, this is a MAJOR repuke stronghold.
A little tidbit on shrub's visit... I don't know why, but as soon as
shrub got into town, around 1030AM, the clouds started to roll in.
By the time the USAF graduation ceremony was in full swing, dark
clouds hung low. From where I work, further our East, it looked like
Mount Doom from LOTR. I kid you not... The Sun shown brightly within
our area (local school district central office)...yet the horizon was
dark...way too dark...

Scary...

3. it was funny, in the local rag
the small article about the protests, etc. yesterday. obvious the difference in mentalitys by the info given to the paper, the anti bush people estimated very conseratively, saying they didn't know how many would show up, the pro-bush* gang, bragging how big they expect their turnout to be, "we expect hundreds! we don't know how many hundreds, but we expect hundreds"...call that a near quote if you will.

after hearing the agenda for the day, and how early i would have had to be there, and considering i work night shift, i had to skip attending. i really wanted to go if for no other reason than to see the anti-war people outnumber the pro-buhsies.
