If so, give them this link:
http://www.americanprogress.org/site/pp.asp?c=biJRJ8OVF&b=42263Have them read that and then if they even TRY to say "wellll, people change their mind when presented with different facts..." remind them that this is bush changing his mind in just the course of THREE AND A HALF YEARS on that many issues, and if they use that argument, they can NEVER again use it on Kerry, because you can just say "um, what was that you said about people changing their mind in light of different facts?" HA!
There's also a wealth of information at the Kerry website. Print off some stuff from that. I have found the best way to shut people up is to hand them some stuff to read. Of course they don't want to read it. If they do, then they are better informed. If they don't, they've lost the argument. Tell them you'll discuss it with them when they've finished reading.
There's also this, which is a real gem:
http://www.buzzflash.com/farrell/04/06/far04018.htmlThe first link I gave you shows you what bush has flip-flopped on in the past three years, and the second link shows you the many things the GOP has violated since they wrote that platform in 2000. It's chilling, actually.
As for this line: "They say the only ideas he has offered are already being done by shrub." Uh, REALLY? Then either they or you or both aren't reading his website. Read his speeches. Especially with regard to foreign policy. Pull out all the specifics. There are loads. Also he now has a list of things he would do in the first 100 days, which is very specific. Print that off for them.
In fact, if you REALLY want to piss them off, make a nice little packet with first a lot of great stuff from the Kerry site (cut and paste into Word to save on paper) and then the two links I gave you. Put it in one packet and make multiple copies. Then when they stop by your cubicle, you can hand them a fat packet and suggest they get back to you when they are done reading ALL of it. It'll take them DAYS, if they do any actual work at work!
I am in Texas. Thus have developed these strategies.
