OK--they don't let Bush out in public all that often--especially without a prepared set of remarks and pre-approved questions. However, I could swear that the chimp was speaking about Tenet's resignation without a prepared speech or even notes.

This is huge stuff for his administration, and this all went down with enough time ahead of the announcement for them to get some kind of statement drafted. WHY would they let the chimp do it solo with no net?

What do you all think?

3. Just watched....DEFINITELY an Ear Piece moment
The pauses and "listening face" tell it all.

6. The view I saw showed only one side of his face.
There was no ear plug on that side. Do we have anybody who did see any wires or ear plugs?

It was evident he was rattled--but I just can't see anyone feeding him that statement as disjointed and stumbling as it was... I dunno--he's a mess in public speaking, no doubt. Maybe they did have to feed it to him, bad as it was.

5. he was trying to think of those words "steadfast" and "resolute"
It took him about five minutes of deep thought to remember them.
