Two people I want to see running in 2012 if we have President Kerry
Elliot Spitzer and Barrack Obama, if he can win the Senate race. Spitzer is a strong Progressive, and would bring REAL integrity into the White House (the legacy of * will transcend his admin.) Obama is definately Edwards times 2, and he's a pretty good speaker. If Edwards is Kerry's Veep, then maybe we could have an Edwards/Obama ticket.

1. Make that '08 and I'm all for it.
Kerry would really have to do something amazing for me to vote for him twice.

2. Why won't you give him a chance?
I'm sick and tired of Naderites saying they'll protest Kerry as soon as he takes office. BTW, if Kerry can't deliver on all of his promises by '08, maybe it would be becauseof a REPUBLICAN CONGRESS.

3. For your information
Not everyone who is skeptical of Kerry is a friggin Naderite.

I've never voted for Nader in my life and I'm about as un-enthused about a Kerry presidency as someone who is definitely going to vote for him can be.

His presidency will certainly have to be a show-me presidency for me to consider supporting him beyond his elected term. I'm not saying he has to get everything done, but if he thinks he can play the center for 4 years like Clinton and get another vote from me, he is mistaken.

Pressure. We all need to exert pressure on him from the get go.

IMO anyway.

4. I agree that we need to pressure him
But I hate hearing people say they'll protest him from the start.

5. Vote for him twice?
Oh, you mean in 2004 and 2008. Gotcha. Yeah, but let's see it this way. He's got 4 years to "prove himself" in a job we already admit he'll be worlds better than Bush at. I'll demand much but expect little, and we'll see how 2008 looks.

But on Obamma, right on, but he'd still be seen as "young" for President. Hell, ACTUALLY younger than Edwards...

6. Spitzer is consumate New Yorker: a cross between FDR and Al Smith.
I don't think he could win a national election (whereas I think Schumer as VP could be kind of cool). I think of Spitzer as a treasure which should exist for the benefit of NY'ers. It's still one of the most important states in the country (and world) and it's important to have someone like him serve as governmor.

7. Edwards/Obama would be a great ticket.
You have a white guy who went to state schools and a black guy who went to private schools. It would redefine a lot of cultural things that have been defined thus far by people like the Bushes.
