The "Why" of Tenet is of no importance; it's what they do with it
Edited on Thu Jun-03-04 07:01 PM by BabsSong
It only took me all day after jumping in and out of DU and reading on-line newspapers and watching cable news networks to realize that it makes no difference who, what, where, why, when and to what extent (to use the old English thing) that the Tenent resignation happened. Who cares?? What you all better be prepared for is how the Administration spins it and IF the media further jacks up the spin or actually looks at it as a ploy to get a bunch of monkeys off of the Grand Chimp's back. We are in many ways going to know in a few days if we are starting to view Custer's last stand or whether Custer is going to remain standing all the way to November.

If they play the Administration game and try to lay all Bush's sins on Tenent and, thus, give the Warrior Prince a fresh start (as NBC did tonight) then Custer will remain in fine shape to keep punching the shit out of Kerry all the way to elections. If they, instead, tell the people that there is another side to this which reeks of falling on the sword to save Bush's hide (like CBS did this evening), then it means that the administration's tricks, spins and general shit is not going to be spewed as propaganda to deliver the vote but that he's going to be challenged on everything. Mark my word, the way these whores play it will determine whether he's going to be in okay shape come Fall or whether he's going to be half beat to death by then. I just put in dish and don't get ABC---how did they report it? (and of course, Fox will unmercifully whore it pro administration and anti-Tenent). This issue is going to show us what we are up against with the media for the next 5 months. Pay attention and take notes.

1. Conspiracy theory--
This is a Bushco plot to destroy the CIA and bring all intelligence organizations (CIA, NSA, DoD, et ct.) under one umbrella, a massive new agency with absolutely no governmental or citizen oversight. I think Custer just promoted himself due to his excellent reputation among the indians.

I'm sure half the DUers have already come up with simialr, far more elaborate conspiracy theories, but that's what I've got for now.

3. Argu--do you realize that that is one of the theories put forth by
one of the talking heads today?? A step towards that type of consolidation and possibly under the leadership of (are you ready?) Gulliani. They know Rudy sells. Be prepared for it. Is Kerry??????
