Really--why is Bush going to Europe??
It's one thing to try to look like you are great at foreign relations in an election year; but this has to bring everything from demonstrations to a new round of spit in his face. That doesn't help his campaign. Now if the dudes in Europe have been paid off in advance and this is going to be a "Bush accomplishes amazing things" trip, then it's totally different. Since I never trust these bastards, what do you think is going on?? Will Bush come back with some kind of "triumphant". If not, then why is he going?? Or is he trying to show that Kerry's approach won't work because "great" him went there and those ugly Europeans won't cooperate with the US of A?? What's the scum up to??? (In fact his base hate foreigners of all varities---they will be going apeshit that he even set foot in places like France)! He could have just done the D-Day thing and not gone any further with it.

3. NV--you are wrong - I think OBL is living in the basement of the
White House and just waiting for the proper time when Bush will drag him out naked on a leash. :hurts:

19. I thought it's a little different
I heard somewhere that OBL's head is mounted on a spike next to Saddam's pistol.

2. He wants to connect his faux war on a noun with WWII and portray
himself as a leader like Churchill. we will be treated to wonderful and dramatic photos of the idiot, AWOL CIC, strutting through the fields of white crosses--ass out, chest out, elbows out and palms facing backwards, while the tableclothed frump look on from afar in adoration of "her man",and we will see portrayed a resolute or a near tears look on his ugly, evil face. It will be all an act, not to mention his visitation with the Pope to present the Pope with an AMerican award for peace of some such foolish thing.

These people are above what Goebbels could ever hope for. and, we are paying for the farce--this embarrassment--this phoney couple using our money for their own agrandizment when we have a nation that contains people who are suffering for lack of health care--he spends billions on a war, and more on scleping around to Europe with the frump, and elderly are wondering how to pay for their medication.

7. I'm going to puke if this guy wraps himself up in one more
"military" moment. I'm so sick of military, military, military morning, noon and night. There's more to this country than "military" and there are so many problems that are just being ignored while we all listen to the military music blaring in our ears. Who says Hitler is dead????

5. It is simply a continuation of the delusional world that bush lives in...
he sees himself as a combination of God's messenger and Eisenhower reincarnated ergo the victory lap in Europe.

6. Seriously, how long has this trip been planned?
Every president of recent history has gone overseas to escape discomfort at home or to increase his polls at home.. Is this really official business?

8. You know what else, Kentuck??--a lot of them take advantage of our
free ticket to them and go see places on our buck when they know they are about to go out the door and will have to pay for it themselves in the future.

10. Yes
he is trying to get support for his UN resolution on Iraq. However the Iraqis seem to have some reservations and I am sure France is questionable from the start. Three weeks till the turn over and still the UN isn't behind this thing. He needs this to move. If he wasn't over there he would be insane IMHO.

Whether he will beg a concession from France and get his Resolution or not remains to be seen.

Somehow I think France will hold its ground and assure that a resolution actually does transfer authority in Iraq before they sign on. I think bush is wasting his time trying or is willing to cut a serious deal.

For the sake of the Iraqis I hope he cuts a serious deal but wrongheaded as he has been all along I am sure he wont.

Anyway yes this is really official business.

12. Well, I'm sure the 60th Anniversary of D-Day was planned a long time ago.
Guess he thought he'd take that bucket of shit and make shit-ade out of it! Thought he'd jet over to Italy first, have a quick walk thru the James Bond Tunnel with his bestest EuroPal, L'Americano, then a quick jaunt to the Vatican, where he'll visit the Pope, and likely make fun of him after...

Rest up for a few days, and off to visit the annoying French...

9. Two Voting Blocks
I think he's looking to shore up a little Catholic vote (visit to the Pope) and then to pick up the retired WW-II vet vote.

Its all about votes at this point.

11. There used to be an old poltical expression: "When Presidents Get in
Trouble at Home...they Head Overseas!"

This was used as an example for Clinton going way back in the 20th Century where when "domestic" troubles hit, Presidents would start to try to look like "Statesmen" and go abroad because "post WWII" they could always get good press as the "Saviors of the Free World."

Now...Chimp is in a different situation. As the first P-Resident of the
"Millenium" he has f**ked up the view of America in the "free world" abroad, made a total mess of America's Foreign Policy and he and his supporters at home are painting a "rosey scenario" for the Economy...so as usual with the Chimp...he's "ass backwards."

One can only say that Rove and the Right Wing Religious supporters of this IDIOT are trying to be "Contrarians."

After all his strength with his "Base" at Home hates "Furriners" and calls them "Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys" so I guess him going and flicking his "package" at the Europeans is supposed to make him look like some "Wild West Strutting Hero" that he had the balls to face down MASSIVE DEMONSTRATIONS and kick sand in the eyes of France and Germany.

What else can one say about these "clueless" doofuses?

A.) He is PRIMARILY concerned with American voters - and mainly his base supporters. He wants to connect his cause of "liberating" Iraq with the WWII-D-Day cause of liberating Europe.

B.) Bush is ALL ABOUT SYMBOLISM. He is just like an Emperor with no CLothes. He has no real strengths, no real policies, just "symbols". Catchwords, costumes, banners with big lettering, turkeys, flight-suits. He needs to keep on formulating new spectacles, new symbolic metaphors in order to succeed, because the Americans are tiring of the same old sh*t.

C.) He is confident that the U.S. media will spin things his way (not reporting on protests, etc.)

20. Rove and the media will spin what a great world "uniter" Bush has become.
... countering the uncounterable critism that he's isolated the USA when we most desperately need to be working with other countries.

Get ready for the BIG SPIN.

Fake an assassination or something like that...try to garner some stateside sympathy for the fuck. I'm not sure if their quite that pathetic or not, though.
