13. Speaking of Tenant Jokes...

First, relax, I *know* it's spelled Tenet! The misspelling bugs *me* too!

When I lived in LA, WE had a very funny landlord! He was gay as the provervial goose and definitely a great guy. Since he was so popular with the tenants of the building, every holiday and birthday, he got loads of cards. The competition was fierce to see whose card would be desplayed in the dead center of the bulletin board after he got them.

I won one year! I went to a toy store and bought a handfull of plastic ants. They were maybe 1/4 inch long molded of black shiny plastic and looked very real (if a trifle thick in the leg and antenna). On the front of a home made card, I glued sand into the form of a 2 demensional ant hill and I put little black dots indicating things coming and going out of it. I lettered across the top "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN..."

On the inside, I glued two rows of the plastic insects, five to each side, sort of in a wavy pattern, with bits of sand here and there and below it I lettered "... FROM YOUR TEN-ANTS!" and got ten of us to sign it.

He was practically on the floor laughing!
