Why is Kerry speaking publicly like he has an egg up his ass?
This man has lost all semblance of energy he had near the close of the primary campign.

Is it that he needs Dean to give him a good kick in de ass again?

19. I saw him on CSPAN tonight and thought he was a great speaker
So refreshing to hear a man who can form sentences. I thought he really came across in a way that most Americans would be proud of if they had this man representing them to the world.

He's not here to be a pretty boy like Clinton; he's here to rebuild a broken nation, like Lincoln.

2. Hes being low key on purpose...

Bush is imploding...nothing he does right now is going to help except acting "Presidential" in contrast.

I think people that are wanting him to go ballistic need to realize that his strategy is working right now...it's just annoying for us to watch.

Gotta give him the benefit of the doubt.

10. This isn't even a "benefit of the doubt" thing. ASK:
... the following question (casually) of someone you know who is relatively apolitical and/or a swing and/or undecided voter: "You know, doesn't Kerry kinda LOOK like a President?"

If you do that 10 times, I bet you get 8 yeses, even if they are still marginally a Bush voter.

deep, deep hole you don't give him a ladder with which to climb out.

11. True, but even when Bush is imploding, Kerry sounds very weak publicly...
Just look at his speech today.

17. he had campaign rallies in missouri, wisconsin, florida in the past few
days. they all got good reviews. they were more energized . but that's what campaign rallies are for. this was a policy speech not a rally. why does everything have to be entertaining all the time for some.

26. For those of us who have WRITTEN those addresses
It was well done, well measured, and hit just the right notes.
This constant obsession with wanting to "fast forward" the campaign, ratcheting up the rhetoric to "October Heat" is a fatal flaw.

JK's fine,,grab some Decaf...or Zoloft.

7. He speaks better than Bush
by volumes. That is what matters now. Bush is not only dull and full of rhetoric, but he cannot annunciate his ideas correctly, anyways. I cannot wait for the debates.

15. You do realize that they would LOVE for Kerry to be more vocal...

The media would call it "playing politics in a time of crisis"

There will come a time when he will speak up forcefully, but until than...its not going to help.

18. I agree...
As an early Dean supporter, I thought he would be finished early. But it ended up the other way around. Whatever he does, he is good at it so let him play on his terms...

20. "egg up his ass" is rather subjective don'tcha think?
And as for Kerry, as many people here pointed out to me a while back, when your opponent is hanging themselves with their OWN DAMN ROPE, just sit back and let 'em do it! No need to scream at them that they aren't tying the knot fast enough.

This is our dream come true--bush is turning the gun on himself.

Mr. Pitt, to say I enjoy your writing. I have one of your columns printed off, folded up and enjoying a prominent spot on my nightstand. I have read it three times, including once aloud.

You rock.

Did it during his trip to Arkansas. Sorry. I didn't realize it would effect his speaking style so much. Hopefully he takes care of that soon. ;-)

29. Kerry is doing GREAT!
His speeches are direct and to the point, focusing on everything that is wrong with America...

Thanks, Sen. Kerry- Americans need to hear all is not lost because of the wayward stewardship of a republican held country led by a maniacal
corporate machine.
