major story goes down the memory hole thanks to Tenet's resignation
Does anyone else find it odd that the major news networks didn't do any reporting of this? The only place I ever saw it was on Yahoo.

This seems like the kind of thing that should NOT slip through the cracks.

AP: Administration Freed Terror Suspect

By JOHN SOLOMON, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Nabil al-Marabh, once imprisoned as the No. 27 man on the FBI (news - web sites)'s list of must-capture terror suspects, is free again. He's free despite telling a Jordanian informant he planned to die a martyr by driving a gasoline truck into a New York City tunnel, turning it sideways, opening its fuel valves and having an al-Qaida operative shoot a flare to ignite a massive explosion.

4. Yes, other stories that the media seems to be deliberately not reporting:
Karen Kwiatkowski

Sibel Edmonds

Project for a New American Century.

Why are they not reporting these stories when people like us have been pounding them over the head with them?

Nobody knows about PNAC. Nobody knows that PNAC is actually running our government (at least in the executive branch). I would guess maybe 3% of Americans have even heard of it.

And now this guy, this terrorist, is released.

There are only two reasons I can think of that he would have been released:

a. They wanted to follow him.

b. He's one of Bushco's soldiers. For all we know he may have beheaded Nick Berg.

I am not being paranoid or tin-foily here. Why the hell did they release this guy? They did it on purpose, it was not a mistake.

3. This story is why I think Plame will NOT be covered up....
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 12:15 PM by chiburb
Here's what I wrote in a thread yesterday (that sunk like a stone):

I've seen speculation in threads that perhaps Tenet's replacement would somehow cover up for this mis-administration's leaking of Plame to Novak.

Uh-uh, not with one VERY pissed off prosecutor leading the investigation and grand jury. In case you missed it earlier...

Administration Freed Terror Suspect

Snip:

WASHINGTON - Nabil al-Marabh was No. 27 on the FBI 's list of terror suspects after Sept. 11. He trained in Afghanistan 's militant camps, sent money to a roommate convicted in a foiled plot to bomb a hotel and boasted to an informant about plans to blow up a fuel truck inside a New York tunnel, FBI documents allege. The Bush administration set him free — to Syria — even though prosecutors had sought to bring criminal cases against him and judges openly expressed concerns about possible terrorist ties.

(Here's the salient part):

Snip:

One FBI report summarized a high-level debriefing of a Jordanian informant named Ahmed Y. Ashwas that was personally conducted by the U.S. attorney in Chicago, signifying its importance. The informant alleged al-Marabh told him of specific terrorist plans during their time in prison.

(You know who that US Atty in Chicago is, don't you?)

Snip:

At one point in late 2002, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago drafted an indictment against al-Marabh on multiple counts of making false statements in his interviews with FBI agents. Justice headquarters declined prosecution. Fitzgerald declined through a spokesman to discuss the reasons.

Fitzgerald then tracked down Ashwas, the Jordanian who because of minor immigration problems had spent time with al-Marabh in a federal detention cell in 2002. Fitzgerald had the man flown to Chicago and oversaw his debriefing along with FBI agents from Chicago and Detroit, documents show.

(Bottom line? A US Atty who has spent his career prosecuting terrorists in NYC and Chicago had the rug pulled out from under him by BushCo. They shipped an admitted terrorist back to a "terrorist-sponsoring" state for no apparent reason. Do you really think he would back off the Plame case for "political" interests? Ha!)

7. Grand post! Yes, we do know who that US Atty in Chicago is
and your are right. He is probably a pretty pissied off public servant.

The junta's achillies heel is their inability to comprehend that anyone would serve in positions in government for the good of the nation and not just as a way to screw the nation. That there are thousands of such people is beyond their narrow perceptions.

Those who serve with honor and quiet dignity will be the army which rids this nation of the junta. And those who help get the word out sure as hell help too!

Good job, citizen. The nation is in your debt.

found this in washington times today, somewhat relevant, you think?

Al-qaida Man Warned FBI of 9/11 Attacks

A British Pakistani man told NBC News he was trained for, and warned the FBI and Scotland Yard about, the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in 2000 to no avail.
<snip>

The congressional report on Sept. 11 confirms in April 2000 an unnamed "walk-in" told the FBI he "was to meet five or six persons" who would take over a plane and fly to Afghanistan, or blow the plane up. The report adds that the "walk-in" passed a polygraph test.

Where my LIHOPers at?

20. I saw a slight 15 sec blurb on tv last night..
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 11:10 PM by Tellurian
referring to this story.
No commentary and no follow up
on journalists opinions..

Odd-

The short clip may be used at some future date as a reference
to a much larger picture. Just as with the Sibel Edmonds story..

We seem to be going through a rash of these tiny vignettes going largely unnoticed by the mainstream.
I can only project, these little stories/evidence will at some future point in time be strung together and used to prove a point/case.

24. You should blame the American corporate media...
...not Tenet. You may have noticed...but EVERY scandal about the Bushies disappears from sight after a short news cycle of about a week. The only reason the media covers it in the first place is give the appearance that they're still 'free' to report the news in the truthful fashion.
