2. I am a teacher and seeing that young woman
in her graduation cap and gown brought tears to my eyes.

I wasn't putting all of that effort into helping young people better themselves just to have Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld sacrifice them!

3. The local news all covered her memorial service
I guess she is the most local (Richmond Va.) person to die in Iraq at least in a while.

Notice she was 18 in May2004 so she must have graduated early and joined immediately, gotten a waver or her folks to sign for her.

5. That's what I meant
Sorry if I wasn't clear. She did graduate last year and then basic....

She must have gone over to Iraq fairly soon after finishing her MOS school (AIT).

6. Leslie Deserved Better
Miss Jackson deserved to live a full life. More than likely she joined the military for the college money, or a job!
Yes it is true that if you are a soldier, that there may be time for you to put your life down for your country. But that is certainly not the case here. Iraq, and it's peoples have never posed a threat to you and I. No more than a drive by shooting would or a drunk driver. Her life has been taken by the actions of this Faustian Bu$h*t government, and their lust for power and money!

8. Damn, if that's not the saddest thing...

In just weeks, it'll be a thousand Americans Bush has killed in Iraq, and God only knows how many Iraqis. Yet he mocks them just as he did Karla Faye Tucker.
