David Duke to run for senate in Louisiana?
Hot damn, that would be a real corker! Especially if he made the runoff. Kerry might actually take Louisiana...

2. Bush & Co. would probably rather pay him *not* to run
If Duke does run, it is one sure way to get out the African-American vote as well as sensible Louisianians who are not trying to have an ex-KKK'er be their man in Washington.

So Duke running in November would actually ignite the Democratic base in Louisiana. It sure did when he ran for Governor.

Cheers, y'all

"...(the opponent) is from the same party that brought you David Duke..." - Democratic cadidate's radio ad in Baton Rouge

From CNN:
"The plea agreement Duke signed in 2002 did not restrict his right to run for office, U.S. Attorney Jim Letten said.

Duke spent one term in the Louisiana House in the late 1980s, but lost elections for the U.S. Senate in 1990 and governor in 1991.

In his federal trial, Duke was accused of bilking supporters by representing himself as being in dire financial straits while actually living extravagantly. Duke denied the accusations. "

3. I'll vote for him in the first election...
At least he's open about being scum, unlike Vitter.

4. Article says that Duke "will openly oppose President Bush's re-election" -
That should be entertaining.

from the cited article -

Duke is about to start on a cross-country tour and will openly oppose President Bush's re-election efforts. Duke opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning and feels this opposition will bring him additional support.

5. is that a cross-country tour, or a cross-burning tour?
DuKKKe opposed the war in Iraq? I would have thought he would be all for thousands of "brown people" being slaughtered.

have gone to war to placate Israel. I'm sure he will win a majority of the white vote here in Louisiana and make us a national embarassment once again.
