Reagan's been slipping away for a long time now, and it's not even that close to the election. I'm sure they'll get some political mileage out of it, but I highly doubt there's anything nefarious going on.

He's been effectively dead for years. Hasn't been seen in public. There will be a big funeral. Maybe Bush gets to speak on TV.

The American public has a collective memory of 2 weeks. They won't remember all that Bush* has done against this country and the world. They will vote out of sympathy.

That's how it was when Wellstone died. It was spun, by republicans, into a political event for themselves. (That's not to say Dems were innocent in all this, Rick Kahn did his best to help the repukes win too)

Can the Dems do the same thing with Reagan, or will our backlash be spun? Or will they?
