1. 1st Question: "How did you feel about the street demonstrations today?"
Chimpy: Democracy is a beautiful thing, and uh, I'm, uh, pleased to be in a country where people are allowed to express their opinion."

5. As opposed to, uhh...
What country has he been to recently where people weren't allowed to express their opinions? Maybe he's just surprised that they don't put their opinionated people in cages... err... "free speech zones."

2. Question #2: "Tell us about your visit with the Pope today."
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 04:38 AM by VolcanoJen
"It was a great honor to be in the presence of such a Godly Man. He and I share concerns about treating people with human dignity, and I, uh, uh, like his Holiness, I was repulsed by the pictures I saw of the treatment by some of our troops toward Iraqi prisoners. That treatment did not reflect the spirit of America. It stained our honor, and there will be a full investigation in a transparent way about the actions that took place. Which will stand in stark contrast of the country that was run by a tyrant! (smacks podium) The Middle East needs to see someone held to account in a transparent way."

Yes, my Chimpy Friend. We call it "The American Election," and it's only a few months away...

4. a little washed-out and tired-looking, isn't he?
I hope, for his sake and that of his father's, that he doesn't end up puking all over Chirac Sunday night. }(

7. You can just tell that he really, really hates this kind of crap.
He hates being the President, I think. It involves hard work, and it annoys the crap out of him. It's evident in his arrogance, and testy behavior during this press conference.

8. comparing war on terrorism to communism
actually, i think it would be good for john kerry to take note of this issue. he can say that communism was a threat then as terrorism is now. but there were some mistakes by those in leadership positions such as the vietnam war in their attempt to fight communism. and that bush is doing the same with the war on terrorism in regards to iraq.
